guided tour @ BRU 14/08/04: log + pics

Post by killerwhale65 »

hi all

as you may know i participated in the guided tour at BRU yesterday August 14. Its the second year they organise such tours in the summer holidays, and also the second time i participated (so you can bet i like it) - for only 15€ its really worth for what you get: a 3 hour tour that lasted 3 hours and a half, inclusing a big hour of touring in a bus around the different airport facilities.
Tour was slightly different from last year (other guide, other accents ...). But like last year the same thing was most impressive for me: going to Brucargo and standing there next to an Asiana 747 that just arrived. THEN you feal little!!! This plane is what i would call HUGE. Saw the captain getting out the plane with his violin :)

I went on one of thier tours in April, it wasn't like this kind, we paid something like...250 for a personal small group tour. Tour of the new pier and a bus ride, it was really fun. Shame I missed this one too....

Thanks for all those nice pictures.

It must be nice to be escorted by a firetruck ;)

no problem

the truck was indeed a nice surprise. even for the guides, i think it was new for them too. But as the truck came back from the emergency (of which i still dont know the cause), the driver was waving at us that we could follow him, and so we did :P

Thanks for the pics Killerwhale :thumbsup2:

Just one small correction... the Belgian governmental Airbus is an A310, not an A300

Regards, Robin Bamps.

Thanks for the pics Killerwhale!

It's nice for people who are not allowed to walk around the airport to have a visit like this!

thanks for the comments all :!:

@Robin: sorry my bad, i did fill it in correctly in my database however :)

@Vonsmall: yes they really are worth the 15€; you should participate next year, but dont forget to book early, as they are quickly filled!

@Bart: yes it is. Too bad 9/11 happened, otherwise we would also have visited Canac and the luggage controll center

I hope I can help you:
Dolimiti: I-ADJE CRJ-100
Vueling: EC-JAB A320-200
Syrian: YR-AKC A320-200
Asiana: HL7419 747-400F

There was a problem with a C-130 from the Belgian Airforce, that's the reason the firetruck has to go.

wowowow a very very big thank you for that.

Indeed we saw a C-130 landing at 25L right after the trucks rushed out and we thought it would be him. However, do you know more about the problems :?:

and thanks for the regs :!:
