Visit the Airbus factory at Toulouse

Post by luchtzak »

Hi all,

since January I have placed an article about visiting the Airbus factory at Toulouse on the website (thanks to Beco): https://www.aviation24.be/modules.php?name ... le&sid=114

A few weeks ago I have asked a nightstop at Toulouse with one of my friends and also a member Jagassi. He is a steward at SN Brussels Airlines. We received the nighstop and I e-mailed the company for a rendez-vous saturday-afternoon.

Now on the 9th of August we will visit the factory!! Unfortunately camcorders and camera's are not allowed but my vision and my stylo with paper will do just fine!!

Now before you all say that I am a lucky guy I would think about chartering a bus/plane to Toulouse loaded with luchtzak.be-members. But first I will need to discover it myself!

I am dreaming to bring a visit to the Airbus 340-600 factory and the new Airbus 380-factory !!

ciao,

Bart

WOW 8O

I think it would be a great idea to make such a trip together on a chartered plane (an Avro  of course). Can you imagine spotters making a trip, travelling in a bus :!: no no that must definately be in a plane.
As we allready discussed on the spottersmeeting such a charter would cost approximately 150€ per person. I think it's quite a good price for such a great trip.

Why doesn't Airbus allow visitors to take some pictures, are they affraid we could sell them to Boeing

P.S. Bart, you are a lucky guy

I'm definitely interested. Hey, if we can't make pics on the inside, we'll just go to the other side of the fence, and take pics of departing Beluga's, right? ;-)

Having visited the DC10 factory of McDonnell Douglas in Long Beach, California, in 1975 and the Airbus factory in Hamburg in 1985, both on business trips, I can tell you that it is an unforgettable experience. the size of the assembly halls is just unbelievable.

I am candidate for another trip, to TLS, at €150 :-)

I totally agree. We could combine such a trip with a spotting day at TLS since the visit doesn't las a whole day

Most companies do not allow cameras, when you visit them.

That would be great to visit the Airbus factory, maybe can SNBA make a special offer for us, they have already sponsored the website. So when someone of SNBA read this, this is a little “hint”.

Even if you cannot organise a charter, the regular rate ("Best Buy") of SN BA will cost you only 99+99.25=198.25 €.

Flight BRU-TLS (SN3667) leaves 9.15 and arrives 10.55; return flight (SN3670) leaves 17.00 and arrives 18.40.

As Luchtzak mentioned in the news, entrance for adults is 9 €. What he did not mention is that groups 20-35 pay 8.50 € and larger groups 8 €.

Or if we fly as a group in a normal SNBA flight we could maybe get some discount.

Anyway, first of all we should know how many people would be interested to go on such a trip.

:D Me too... provided we don't charter one of the Dash 8s DAT damp-leased from Schreiner. It's :offtopic: but you had the impression the plane would explode @ take off and had to shout when flying... :|

A nice SN Brussels RJ 85 with the dark blue leather seats would be nice

Guys,

I am a little sceptical about chartering an airplane... first of all we have to have a correct date to charter the plane, second we need to fill the plane with 82 passengers! Meaning 82 people who love to visit the Airbus-factory and want to pay about 159 € for the trip (150 € airplane + entrance + transport to the meeting-point).

But I will discover the opportunities when I am there. I will do my research and come back with the results.

ciao,

Bart

Well, I suggest you start a poll Bart, so we can see how many people would like to do this.

Three! Seventy-nine!

And even if you don't reach the fatidic number of 82, the Best Buy fare isn't that much more costly.
