KLM'ers are so lucky.....again!!!!!

We just don't have the space to display a twister map in our galley, we are not even allowed to read something (book / magazine ) in this very same galley.

I remember that some time ago a KLM-crew of a 747-400 was suspended because they were walking on the plane...
they left the cockpit by opening an emergency hatch and then they were walking joyfully on top of their 747 !

By the way, the photo of the dancing KLM crew is a fake one. The story was that a few members of the crew had left the plane via the emergency exit of the in the cockpit of the B747 and were dancing on the roof of the plane just after landing in Guatemala City.

De foto zou zijn gemaakt door een journalist van het vlaamse blad: De Morgen. Wij hebben echter het bewijs achterhaald dat niemand minder dan de KLM zelf deze stunt in scene had gezet. De originele foto werd door een anonieme bron van de KLM PR-afdeling aan ons gegeven. Daarop is de bovenkant van de KLM-Boeing te zien maar daarop geen openstaand noodluik en zeker zeker geen dansende bemanning te zien zijn. Tevens is een foto aangeleverd (genomen met een digitale camera) waarop te zien is dat drie bemanningsleden dansen voor een zgn. 'Blue Screen'. Het is een relatief simpele bewerking om de twee foto's digitaal samen te voegen waarna de foto die op de voorpagina van onze 'Wakkere krant' als resultaat van de pers rolt. Daarbij komt dat aan de getruceerde foto duidelijk te zien is dát die nep is want de aangebrachte slagschaduw klopt niet. Kijk maar eens of je überhaupt schaduw ziet op een spiegelend oppervlak. Die is er nl. niet!!

Het motief van deze aktie is simpelweg wat extra publiciteit. Door levensgroot op de voorpagina te staan van De Telegraaf is toch weer even aandacht geschonken aan KLM en aan het feit dat zij rechtstreeks vliegen op Guatamala. Dat de bemanning soms een beetje uit 'zijn dak' gaat is daarbij min of meer negatieve publiciteit maar het is onwaarschijnlijk dat de reiziger door dit voorval niet zou kiezen voor een vlucht met KLM.

Ok, this's for MAS CAs
Many western passengers like to go to the galley (normally during flight up to 5 hours) to chat with those crews for about an hour after the first meal.

Indeed, I have the impression that some asian f/as of most asian carriers are a little bit shy. They serve you, they smile to you, but have a nice talk to you is mostly not available. (From what I've experienced). Opposite of KLM f/as are more talkative than the asian one (Garuda, from my experience), they ask you what you are going to do in your destination and talk a little bit over this and that. Correct me if I'm wrong

I don't know who told you this story but it is NOT correct at all.
All 3 crew members got suspended for a certain period and got financial sanctions for the damage they did to KLM.
In that time I was still working for KLM and this was also anounced in the Wolkenridder which is the company magazine from KLM and also used as a news flyer inside KLM.
The dancing on top of the 747 did happen for real!

?? I've found this information on internet (see the link below the story). Did it really happen. What a grazy people

I thought it was only a photo joke, by seeing those two stories. Why have they done this, only for a stunt? The damage must be very big then, if I look to the photo, they didn't took of their shoes

Well, MAS widebodied aircrafts cabin crews (A330, B777, B747) are not shy at all, most of them are very friendly, & i think they are somewhat too open-minded. They can talk anything with u. If it's a boring conversation, the passenger will be not so stupid talking ... in the galley with them for more than 1 hour, right ?

But some A330 cabin crews are not friendly at all, this is mainly because most of them are still new & they only work on B737 & A330. Some of them are quite rude too (to be honest). They are indeed shy, when u are trying to look into the galley (when they are preparing meals at the back of B737-400, they will close the curtain), but i think this is rude.

There are 2 categories of MAS cabin crews
the new F/As only work on B737-400, A330-200 & A330-300.

Those MAS cabin crews who already work with MAS up to 2 years
They only work on A330-200, A330-300, B747-400 & B777-200ER.

MAS got a small number of F/As based in Kota Kinabalu work on to work on F50 only.

I can imagine if you are new, that you are shy. You have to learn the passengers and etc... About they close the curtain when you take a look into the galley could also be some privacy for the crew. But, I agree with you, mostly if they've nothing to hide, they can open the curtain, so if they close it in front of your nose, it might be rude. But the asian f/a are mostly the best of the world in my opinion. I remember a Garuda stewardess, she called Beby (I pronounce that as Baby 8) ), and she was a baby, so sweet and small. Very cute :happy:
