Spottersmeeting in BRU

Post by MD-11er »

This years EBBR spottersmeeting will be on the 24th and 25th July.
A couple of guys contacted me already to tell me they will be part of the meeting.
Let's hope on a lot of sun as these last days we haven't been very lucky.
Hope to see some of you overthere.
I think we can start our meeting as usual at the watertower near Runway 25L.
Any other propositions and ideas are most welcome.

Hi MD-11er,

Glad you found your way to luchtzak.be ;)

I'll normally be there on Saturday, and a small chance that I make it on Sunday morning, before having to be somewhere else on Sunday afternoon.

Hope that a lot of people will join...

Thanks for the initiative!

Never mind Airbuske, you can be invited to our 12th September spotters meeting instead if you want to come.

Is this an "official" Luchtzak meeting?

For as far as I know, it is an individual initiative, but Luchtzak can only support such meetings. Same for the meeting that Comet organises on 12 September.

Are there some official Luchtzak meetings?
When were the previous ones?
When are the next ones?

How do you define an "official" Luchtzak meeting?

I would have thought that all meetings were organised in the same way - ie that someone asks if there will be enough interest for a meeting and take it from there, or say that they will be at the airport on a certain date and give an open invitation for anyone there at the time (or anyone who wants to spot with someone else rather than on their own) to meet up with them and join them.

Spotting is so much nicer in a group than on your own, it is too easy to miss sightings when you are on your own, several pairs of eyes make things alot easier!

I suggested 12th September for my meet because that is the only Sunday I am in Belgium, which makes it easier for any students to attend and those who work during the week, and the Saturday before has a rather unfortunate date which will probably mean increased security. Sunday is not the best day for getting to Kortenberg by train, as we will have to change trains in Leuven, but I intend to make the best of the time I've got on the day!

If nothing important comes in between I'll be there on saturday as well.

It's very easy Louise. If Bart suggests to make a meeting like last year, then it becomes official ;)

I already planned to come to BRU on Saturday before I knew there was a meeting (I still need the Afriqiyah A320, Vueling A320 and Hewa Bora L1011 on digital).

So if the weather is fine on Saturday like they say now... I'll be there

Regards, Robin Bamps.

Does the Hewa Bora TriStar come in on a Sunday? I bagged that aircraft on video back in 2002, but that was on a Thursday, and I would love to get a decent still photo of a TriStar before they all disappear :(

The two A320s sound interesting propositions, but A320s will be around for alot longer than the dear old TriStar.

Comet,
Hewa Bora comes in Saturday-evening around 7.45 pm and leaves on Sunday around 11.00 am. So on Sunday you might be able to snap it.

Guys, if I survive "Beleuvenissen" in Leuven on Friday, I might pay a visit to 25L. Please let me know if it will be Saturday or Sunday because I have to fill in other activities.

But not on the threshold of 25L, and certainly not if you arrive at 11:45 am.

Thanks ILS25L. Andre - it won't be as late as you quoted when I get to the spotting area. It will be shortly after 11am at the latest, and I am working on getting there earlier, it just means that we have to ask the hotel for a packaged breakfast or an earlier one.

That is, of course, if we actually get to Belgium!!!!

Sounds great!

I'll try too come Saturday and Sunday, however I have no idea if we go on vacation (would be a very very last minute then :P )

I'll shure come around at the watertoren, but I'm not planning too stay there all day (not that much zoom for non-side shots), so I will move around sometimes.

Are you shure it will be 25??

Don't know yet if I will come around 6 AM on Saturday OR sunday, but will be one day for shure (won't want too miss the A330's this year :!: )

Kind Regards and see you there

That's what I'm thinking every year, but thgen I'm always too lazy to stand up in the morning.

Count me in as well. I'll only be able to make it on Saturday however. Sunday I'll be playing some soccer matches on the beach of Ostend.

Hey, wait a minute...Ostend = OST... Drop the soccer and take my camera with me? :-)
