Hello everybody,

My first flight was on 17th July 2000 (almost 4 years ago) from Brussels to Antalya on board of TC-ALO, an A321 from Air Alfa.

Picture : http://www.planepictures.net/netshow.cgi?56995

The return flight to Brussels took place one week later (24th July 2000), on board of TC-ACA, a B737-400 from Istanbul Airlines.

Both companies are now bankrupt, seems like I'm bringing bad luck :P

Regards, Robin Bamps.

PS: Thanks Raymond for referring to my picture of OO-LVJ

Hi Moons,
Maybe someone can dig up his memory and tell me more about the connection Brussels-Bulgary those days...which airline was it? And which type of plane?
I would say that is was Balkan with a TU-134 or TU-154. They must have had a connection from Brussels to Bulgaria with those aircraft types in the early 1990's.

If your memory is still that good... the seat configuration from a TU-134 is 2-2, from a TU-154 3-3.

Regards, Robin Bamps.

Thanks for your indication Chris...

I think all Dutchmen will be happy as I've flown on Air France in February

Regards, Robin Bamps....

Interesting topic 8)

My very first flight was on a Cessna, a 1 hour-flight with take-off in Antwerp at the age of +- 12 years.

My very first commercial flight was with my grandparents and my brother to London Heathrow, with British Airways on a Boeing 737 at the age of +- 14 years

I must ask my dad but when I was only a year or 2 we also went on vacation with an airplane. But I don't remember the place anymore. What I still have to hear on every family-reunion is that my play-truck dissappeared in the front-galley during descent and that I started to make a scene to get my truck back ;-)

Now I am wondering when me 10.000th flight will happen ;-)

hi,

my first flight was on a sabena DC10 from BRU to BJM and back.
it was in 1988 and the ony reason I still know what plane it was is because my father took a pic of it at BJM.
here it is.

(sorry about the quality but it is an old pic and I'v got a bad scanner  )

btw I was 4 yrs old at the time.

my first real flight was in 2000 (late eh :( ) it is from that moment that I started gaining intrest in aviation and started flying a lot more.
this flight was a sobelair flight from BRU to Dakar (Senegal) on a B767 and back.

It's working now, thanks for the picture! Please don't excuse for bad quality, it brings back many memories for me and I am sure for a lot of us! We should support every effort to bring back historical pictures!

My first flight was in May, 1964, for the school holidays, my brother (justy) was 10 years old and I was 9, we were at a residential (boarding) school, in Christchurch & were flown to be with our parents, in the North Island.
The 'plane was a DC3 , we took off from Christchurch, flew to Wellington , then on to New Plymouth, on the North Island's west coast. On the way back we flew New Plymouth to Palmerston North, on to Nelson then down to Christchurch. The highlight of those trips was handing the boiled sweets out to the other pax, they were to make you swallow, so your ears wouldn't block up, there was no cabin pressurisation; it made us feel real special, we took turns at that.

I can’t remember much from my first flight! I was very very very young!

All I remember is that I arrived with my Father and departed with my Mother!

I flew back to LUX 2 months later, after a nice holiday in New York (Brooklyn) and New City, NY. And I made a report of the trip :)

My first flight was a domestic flight of LOT between Warsaw and Bydgoszcz, on an An-24, some 20 years ago.

Your flight would have stopped off at Keflavik in Iceland, that is the main international airport for the country. Reykjavik is a domestic terminal close to the city centre. Keflavik is the US base, the airport in Reykjavik did not have sufficient runway for international operations with larger aircraft.

Reykjavik and Keflavik airports are not the same.
Sabena and Sobelair - gone but never forgotten.

My first flight was MAN - IOM on a BEA Viscount back in 1961 - awesome view from the enormous windows.

Next flight was in Loganair BN-2 Islander out of Prestwick doing circuits at Ayr Race Course, followed soon after by Luton - Rimini in a Monarch Britannia

The first time I flew was on a Sobelair 737-200, to Palma in may 1989. Since I was only 4, I don't remember anything of the flight, but my parents told me that flight was the first and true trigger to my aviation-liking!

Greetings, Jelle

Ryanair 737-200 return flight for the weekend, Charleroi to Shannon, Ireland (just for the flying, spend less than a day in the city) in 2002.
I keep planning citytrips ever since, partly just for the flying part)
