Your first flight

Post by nwa757 »

What airline was it with? What was the aircraft type? What was the route? What was the year that the flight took place in?

For me it was a Northwest DC-10 from Milwaukee to Minneapolis in December 1996.

Morning,
My first flight I ever made was :

The one I will always remeber :
BRU-JFK around 1974 with SABENA 747-1OO

My first flight was somewhere in 1987 or 1988, with a Sabena 737-200, from Antwerp to Brussels... (schooltrip...), but I can't remember much of it...

My first 'real' flight was with an Austrian A310-300 VIE-JFK...

Regards,
Ben

My first flight was: Zwartberg(EBZW)-Zwartberg(EBZW) with an AN2. Flight duration was 45 minutes.

Second and last flight was with the OO-VLK http://www.airliners.net/open.file/087083/L/ from Antwerp to London city and back, only 30 minutes stop because it was a baptise flight. Small story: Normally, we should have taken the flight around 2 o'clock but while we were waiting, we saw the aircraft coming back from Londen with only one engine. They tried to fix it but the flight was cancelled until 5pm. So as compensation, we received 2 tickets for whatever we wanted to eat at the restaurant at the airport (those pancakes were great). At 5 pm, out flight took off. It costed me 1500BEF but we had the full service. While flying to to London I ate 2 sandwiches and druk 2 cokes. We were not able to visit the cockpit in full flight because it is so small and the flight is too short. But at London City Airport, the F/A told us something about VLM, the route, the OO-markings on the plane, etc, ...
On our way back, we received again the full service. The F/A were wearing white cloves and used tongs(?) to offer us the food and were extremly friendly. I have some pictures (no, not from the F/A, I was too young to look at them ;) ) but I still need to scan them.

Oh dear - thanks for making me feel old

My first ever flight was in 1974, with British Airtours, the charter subsidiary of British Airways. We flew from Gatwick to Tenerife North in a Boeing 707.

My first flight was from Amsterdam - Barcelona on Transavia. It was just a week after the fateful evening when the ElAl 747 crashed into an apartment building in Amsterdam in October 1992. I was 5 by then, and my mom always tells me that because of the crash I wanted to stay with my dad because I thought the most flight would crash. But I flew and since than I love to fly.
I remember the trip being on a 737 but I can't tell which model, I suspect a -300 but if someone has other info I would be delighted to hear that.

My first flight was in 1990, end of April, beginning May.
Route: BRU-ACE
Carrier: Sobelair
Type: Boeing 737-3..
Duration: 4hrs.

Since then I love to fly, I try to pick at least a return-trip/year.

Mine was a hop from BRU to LHR on an SN flight bound for Atlanta. The aircraft was a 747 something, don't blame me for not remembering, I was very young in those days ;)
Many happy landings

My first flight was the summer of 1990 I think, I'm not sure. It was on a holiday to Bulgary with a russian plane according to what my father told me. He also says that it was the softest landing he ever made.

Maybe someone can dig up his memory and tell me more about the connection Brussels-Bulgary those days...which airline was it? And which type of plane?

My first flight was in 1986 when I was nearly 3 years old. It was an SN B737-229/Adv from BRU-ZHR.

But I've also flown 2 months before I was born and I don't know if this allready counts as a first flight ;) anyway that flight was also from BRU-ZHR with a B737-229/Adv from SN.

The first flight I really remember is on June the 5th 1992 from BRU-LHR with a B737-229/Adv from SN.

My first flight was in 1993 from brussels to heathrow and back. Can't remember much about it ( especially which plane the number and the time) Do remember being with my mum and gran. It was just before christmas and it was amazing! Only problem was that I didn't have an id card at that time being ten so British airways staff wasn't keen on letting me go on the plane on my way back to brussels! Luckily they gave in phewwwwww ;)

my first flight was in a C-130 of the Belgian Airforce in 1976.
it was a program defence had that year with shools to make flights over Belgium, in principe carried out with a 727 (i think), but that day the regular plane was in maintenance and a Hercules was doing the trip :)
we where al about 13/14 years and the news that we would have a flight in the latest and biggest plane of the airforce made us go wild, we even had the occasion to go visit the cocpit in flight and the loadmaster opend the cargodoor :D
soon we came in heavy turbulence and 2/3 of us became sick as hell (including me  ) but man,...... wath a day !!!!!! :P

My first flight was 1996, my dad had planned a sightseeingflight over our hometown Maasmechelen. We (pilot, my dad and I) departed at EBZW for a flight of 30 minutes, an experience I'll never forget. The flight was operated by "Limburgse Vleugels Zwartberg" the aircraft was a Cessna 152, OO-LVJ .

My first commercial flight was in 1998, together with a friend, I went to Spain (Denia). Our flight left BRU at 05h45 and we landed at about 07h55 at ALC. The Boeing 737-300 , OO-VEH, was operated by "Virgin Express" I had a chance to visit the cockpit during our flight when we were about to cross the Pyrenees.
