What airports in the US will be able to handle the A380?

Post by nwa757 »

Does anyone on here know what US airports can handle the A380. I assume ORD and LAX will be able to handle it, but what about the others?

I'm not sure if LAX is going to be able to, I'm sure I read a thread on that here. Maybe Boeing are paying them not to bother!!!

- JFK comes into mind
- LAX for sure, but if they're will be ready in time I can't tell
- SFO also pops up

And maybe some other major airports in the US.

I also heard that LAX wouldn't be ready in time for the A380. Can somebody give us more informations about the current progression of the works at LAX???

I don't think they will be any A380 flights to ANC or DEN. I bet the first will be to JFK,LAX,ORD and maybe MIA.

I don't remember that the US have annexed Saudi Arabia yet

It's nice to see that the 2 airports of San Francisco are on the list.

Maybe they will make these airports "A380 suitable" because they will be used as a diversion airport, in case of other airports closed of problems with the a/c itself.
But I don't see regular flights into ANC and DEN also, but maybe to ANC with cargo flights.

I agree with that, I heard about it a few months ago. I bet if the A380 had a Boeing badge on it they'd be preparing right away!!
