Well , you know the 737 classical is a quite old plane , now most of them are EFIS , you know the EHSI + FMC , GPS and so on , just have a look below the HSI here on the picture of the TNA , compare it to this one http://www.planepictures.net/netshow.cgi?123172 which is a picture of the OO-SBJ panel , and you will see the difference
Shortly , NON EFIS is ... poor ! That's almost the same than a -200 cockpit !
Yeah, you mean it hasn't been upgraded. Everything is still analogue, also the engine gauges I know it's poor in comparison with other B737-300 but I kind of like those old all analogue cockpits like the B737-200 and the B727-200
But about the engines gauges , I think that's an option and that doesn't mean it is an old plane , some excellent 734 have digital gauges like that ( for example the 429 OO-SBM of Sobelair ) , pilots prefer that because you have a digital indication and also a small numerical one just on the gauges ...
The 733 OO-SBZ simulator at the SFA has digital gauges also
I don't want to be controversial on this but if you look into a cockpit of an Airbus 319,330 and Avro the digital indications look really smart! If you look into the cockpit of the BAe146 it looks really ugly
