Seems to be planned to operate as SN1153 to SEA, STD 1340 tomorrow.

Sure! One A333 is scheduled to bring Red Devils to the States. It's included in the planning of 10 daily long haul flights.

At least SFH will not remain in SeaTac.

She is homeward bound, after a 3-hour turnaround.

Maybe they will get maintenance and then a new livery and then the new cabin, so this requires several months, no?

LHG is likely to try as much subfleets clean up as possible to be reported by ende of 226.

332 out ( Discover), 767 out ( Austrian), 346 out ( FRA), 333 out ( LH).

This does not mean that the two 333 would enter immefiately in service.

By the way, what is the timeplan for the new cabin? Discover and Edelweiss are starting their change overs to Thompson seats in winter as well.

I'm not an expert, and I don't know the internal cuisine of the LH Group at all.
But..
ITA has 16 very young A 330-900's, and will get the A350, so probably the A 330-900's will become redundant for them. Terminating existing lease contracts will probably be expensive...
Brussels Airlines has 13 relatively old A330-300's whose maintenance cost will probably go up and reliability will probably go down, resulting in new costs, so less benefits, higher losses and reduced customer satisfaction. Brussels Airlines will apparently not get the A 350.
So, could the ITA A 330-900 not be an ideal replacement for the fleet of Brussels Airlines' A 330's?
I know there is apparently an issue about the high noise of the A 330-900 at approach.. but A 330-900's fly all over the world, and their noise is nowhere an issue?
From an outsider's view, it would look like a good way of solving the fleet questions for two members of the LH group... But I guess it's not that simple... :)?

Not that simple indeed. This is far ahead planning. A part of the SN fleet will receive a new cabin and the reservation is already made. + almost the entire LH fleet has the new livery. Bringing in ITA colors would catapult them back

That would be great!
While I'm not an expert, I'm convinced this plane is perfect for medium-haul flights of Brussels Airlines.
Hasta la victoria siempre.

Pretty useless to discuss the A339 when it's already said the plane will not fly for SN due to noice restrictions, no?

Is the A350 already ruled out?

Let's try to figure out the 339 situation as much as we can logically.

LHG declared several times that it deliberately decided not to order the 339 and simplify its long haul fleet towards 1 model per size : 789-359-351-779 on long term (as of today).

There are 51 B789 in the fleets and ordered, so the 789 has found its place.

And now we go towards scenarios :

a. TAP comes to Lufthansa - then another 22? 339 would join the fleet, together with ITAs, there would be around 40, quite a fair proportion compared to the 789 and likely that LHG would accept them as subfleet

b. If TAP does not come to LHG, only ITA would have the 339 and likely around 2033-36 they may have a wave of getting rid of them - i assume here that ITA has the typical lease terms of 10-12 years and probably before any prolongation decision a decicion around harmonizing the cabin products towards the group standards may come up as well.

If we consider all wishes and needs, there may be additional orders needed at LHG group level in the same time frame, as some other subfleets eg Swiss' A333 would need replacement as well.

MY bet : the 789 - there are 3 with GE engines which may fit to give Austrian the promised size of 14 aircraft and the 10 recently ordered 789 with delivery dates 2032-34 may not have other sweet spot to be used. ITA wants 359, Discover would roll over towards 359, for SWiss 333 they are coming to early and there are additional 359 anyway in the same window.

In the event yesterday to celebrate the coming of the 8th A320neo they stated that the next 5 A320neo would come starting in 18 months.

This would mean they do not come next year early, for the summer season, but rather at the end of the year, beginning of 2028.

Or did I miss something?

Cheers,
Danny
