Reportedly 'fire'(?) in the cabin. Passengers were evacuated on the taxiway using emergency stairs.

HB-JDH still seems to be in Brussels... Must have been something quite more serious...luchtzak wrote: 07 Apr 2026, 01:17Suspected fire: https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/luft ... abin-fire/Established02 wrote: 06 Apr 2026, 19:42 It looks like there was a little emergency with HB-JDH A20N, causing all other 07L arrivals to hold before being redirected to RWY01.

Unusual detour. Probably related to some air force exercises.

My best guess:
Thunderstorm season has started combined with RWY 07L arrivals, we'll see this more often in the next months

Would be interesting to know why the SAME runway was used for take-offs and landings in OPPOSITE directions.
ARR on 07L
DEP from 25R
This resulted in multiple diversions :
SK CPH > AMS
SN ARN > LGG
SN MUC > LGG
SN GOT > OST
SN WAW > OST
SN ZTH > LUX
SN LIN > OST
3O NDR > LGG

Anyone in the Tower for an explanation? This looks indeed like the most inefficient way to handle traffic.

I am sure that APP, TWR and GND, all did the best they could with what they had at that moment.sn26567 wrote: 05 May 2026, 09:11 Anyone in the Tower for an explanation? This looks indeed like the most inefficient way to handle traffic.
My question is why were they down to a single Rwy Ops?
And out of curiosity why ARR and DEP were in opposite directions?
Fact is that they kept it safe and this is the most important.
Nobody should try to beat Napoli +20 years ago where two (02) flights were given clearance for T/O simultaneously, one from 06 and the other from 24. "Ma che c.. fa?"

Access by road to Brussels Airport is blocked at this very moment (10h local). Reason: there is gas leak nearby:
