Tomorrow the SFQ will be back
Flight today cancelled, now expected back in BRU tomorrow at 1630LT. :) Maybe something with the Red Devils? Who knows...
Nope! SN1154 from ORD was operated by SFH.

I was talking about the livery which might have something to do with the Red Devils, not the pax onboard ;) . Especially since they'll need the A333 to fly to the US. Something like OO-SFO used to have for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil!

One question from my side. There are 5 A320NEO targeted for delivery next year.
Any idea how many 319 would be replaced?
According to the pattern of growing the narrowbody fleet by 1-2 per year, it should be 3 or 4.

"Brussels Airlines adds five more A320neo aircraft to its fleet... The new aircraft will mainly replace older-generation planes, with one dedicated to growing the fleet."

I am wondering if there are still A333 going for maintenance or repaint this Spring time.

Waiting for OO-SFD to come back, but high season is coming and knowing that a C or D check takes more than one month this would not leave full capacity for the period ...

Cheers,
Danny

Moreover, they have now JFK planned daily and Washington 4/w ... So less capacity available for Africa.

I saw that Dakar is again in triangulation with Banjul and Conakry ...

Danny

Brussels will also be getting pre-owned 320neo this year.

External ?

Internal there is only one source - Eurowings. So the assumption would be a swap B737Max for 320Neo?

It appears some ex Frontier jets will come to the LHG. Frontier is not in the best of financial situations and will return some planes to lessor. They are taking delivery of P&W powered A32N + they already have P&W powered A32Q and CFM powered A32N. So it would make sense for them to return the CFM powered jets first. Looking at EAF, 2 of those A320-251s are supposed to join the Eurowings fleet in September. So it would make sense that some more of these would come to SN (and OS for that matter).

Indeed, this is a new contingent coming to the market.
Was thinking spntaeously about the ex Play A320 and A321, having as well matching engines.

Would be good to see a courageous move and an accelerated roll over from 319 towards all 320.

Lufthansa has decided to discontinue its CityLine subsidiary and ground its fleet of 27 CRJ regional jets.

What stands out even more, however, is the related announcement: Discover Airlines will receive 9 additional A350-900 aircraft earlier than planned.

Meanwhile, there is still no update or clear communication regarding the long-haul fleet renewal for SN...

Well, no suprise here.

Out of the 23 CRJ the half was not flying anymore, Cityline was anyhow planned to close 2027 and the CRJs to exit the fleet by end of the year. The strike just closed them 7-8 months earlier, in a context where other airlines are also reducing flights.

With respect to the 350, it's also no suprise, in the overall context:
- Discover is copying Edelweiss, thus a transition 333->359 on medium term is logic; with the first 4 359 already confirmed before, the path forward was clear
- the press statement says nothing about time, just mentions "medium fleet planning"
- some rumors in German forums give a part of these 9 as replacement to the oldest 333

But if we see the big picture, this is a kind of logical move.

- Lufthansa has 17 A359 without First and the old cabin delivered pre 2021, 5 in FRA , the majority in MUC
- as from Sept, LH is getting 15x A351, 8 of them until end of 2027

- also LHG has another 13 A359 n ot allocated yet, to be delivered 2029-2031, with a peak of 7 planned for 2030

As an educated guess, if the market would continue to be weak, some 351 could replace 359 in MUC and this would be than transferred to Discover, if the market would get stronger again, some of the 13 359 would join straight with new cabin 2029-30 and replace these mid life aircraft.

My bet on Brussels is still the 789.

I agree, same for passenger comfort, very bad planes and in addition the curve after takeoff means that it flies over the centre of Brussels when turning to the left.
Hasta la victoria siempre.
