Not only pax is expanding but also cargo.
Kalitta Air is expanding their presence at BRU with a route to Cincinnati. Since the beginning of this year, Kalitta Air is flying this resumed route 6 times a week with the B777. They fly on behalf of DHL Express.

Re: Brucargo 2026: new routes, news
DHL has multiple daily connections between CVG and BRU. How to tell if this DHL/Kalitta service is really an expansion, rather than just a (temporary) substitute for an existing DHL/Aerologic service (to CVG) or for another DHL aircraft that became temporary unavailable?Atlantis wrote: 08 Jan 2026, 21:53 Kalitta Air is expanding their presence at BRU with a route to Cincinnati. Are there public figures for the flown tonnage on BRU-CVG and BRU-LEJ?

1800 tons in a month divided by 30 days would result in 60 tons per day. This is expectedly the payload of a single B77L/A330 flight, while DHL often operates at least 2 flights a day on BRU-CVG.

It looks like Emirates Cargo no longer operates to BRU. It seems they recently moved all their cargo ops to LGG.
Re: Brucargo 2026: new routes, news
Just to be honest, the weekly frequency was not high and the performance not great. Many times the flights were canceledEstablished02 wrote: 31 Jan 2026, 14:09 It looks like Emirates Cargo no longer operates to BRU. It seems they recently moved all their cargo ops to LGG.

On the other hand, you seem to consider your lost customer EK as 'quantité négligeable'. BRU only has about 12 dedicated cargo customers (apart from DHL) and you just lost one of them. Not the biggest one, but not the smallest one either (I guess). EK cargo has been operating for like 10 years to BRU. It is EK that brought in the occasional 747s from Kalitta and Compass for supposedly heavy traffic to IAH (iirc) and ORD. BRU is now loosing a regular connection to DWC. As far as I know, BRU had invested a lot in pharma infrastructure, and now looses a part of this valuable pharma traffic to LGG! I hope BRU can prevent any of their remaining customers (e.g. ABB) from running off to magnet LGG.
Re: Brucargo 2026: new routes, news
True, it's a customer left. LGG is very strong, is a 24/7 airport and has less restrictions. EK was flying indeed with bigger metal to BRU, but exactly this was a problem. Cost more and penalties. Each airline is checking the bill at the end.Established02 wrote: 31 Jan 2026, 20:46I appreciate your honesty and I trust you know your numbers.Atlantis wrote: 31 Jan 2026, 16:21Just to be honest, the weekly frequency was not high and the performance not great. LGG and BRU has more or less the same business. But pharma is much bigger at BRU than LGG.
On this way you see that it is not important. Flexibility is, and this is the issue at BRU.
Brucargo wants to grow big. More than 1 million ton. But it has difficulties to attract pure cargo airlines.
Most of the new ones are afraid of the restrictions bcs they fly with a much older fleet.
LGG has a very strong and active cargo team. Congratulations to them. The cargo stays in Belgium and this is important
Re: Brucargo 2026: new routes, news
Today, Aviapartner cargo announced that it will sell all its cargo activities to WFS at Brussels Airport.
Aviapartner is active since 1980 at BRU.
Note that this is only related to the cargo activities. All passengers activities and General Aviation is not involved here.

Re: Brucargo 2026: new routes, news
Which cargo airlines are being handled by Aviapartner? Singapore Cargo,...?
All their cargo customers will move along to WFS or not necessarily?

Re: Brucargo 2026: new routes, news
Not sure about the individual cases, but at the end I believe that the end customer will chose which handler they go further with. Or WFS, Dnata or Menzies.Established02 wrote: 03 Feb 2026, 20:35 Which cargo airlines are being handled by Aviapartner? Singapore Cargo,...?

Will WFS take over at the same conditions Aviapartner Cargo had? We know how tuff the competition is and how thin the margins.
They were handling Singapore Airlines Cargo, RAM Cargo, Sichuan Airlins, previous also Virgin Atlantic.
Re: Brucargo 2026: new routes, news
What about OST and LGG? At OST they usually have experienced people who come from BRU when the "experts" at OST are sick or on holiday.Atlantis wrote: 03 Feb 2026, 18:46 Today, Aviapartner cargo announced that it will sell all its cargo activities to WFS at Brussels Airport.

I know that AP sends people from BRU to OST and LGG to help.

I notice that Singapore Airlines Cargo has been cancelling several (if not all) flights last week and this week.

Re: Brucargo 2026: new routes, news
Glad to hear. I had asked GROK AI for some explanation but apparently it was not capable to make the simple link with Chinese New Year. Instead it came up with some old argument about closed Iranian airspace.Erikvanwijk01 wrote: 27 Feb 2026, 07:04Because of Chinese new year.Established02 wrote: 24 Feb 2026, 22:04 I notice that Singapore Airlines Cargo has been cancelling several (if not all) flights last week and this week.

Multiple Hainan pax flights have been cancelled, expectedly for Chinese New Year as well. OE-LFD has been in HKG since 22FEB. OO-LFC has been sitting idle in BRU since 22FEB. DHL may have reduced their PVG flights. But on the other hand I noticed that Zeta and especially Sichuan Airlines kept operating seemingly normally.

Re: Brucargo 2026: new routes, news
Someone kindly messaged me saying that only 1 out of the 7 747s of the SQC fleet would have been operational during this Chinese New Year period. Quite astonishing to see how much of the global traffic is depending on China's manufacturing base, despite of having a worldwide network.
Re: Brucargo 2026: new routes, news
Is the B77L of Central Airlines from Ezhou a new service to Brussels? According to the Brussels airport site they are scheduled to operate daily next week except on Wednesday.
Would be a nice addition and for once a Chinese cargo airliner that doesn’t operate from LGG.
They seem to operate under their name and not on behalf of DHL like the other aircraft that are comming to Brussels.
