Still waiting for the HCAA (Greek FAA) to come out with a statement. As a part Greek I’m not surprised this happened the infrastructure is out of date and there are also not enough air traffic controllers so something like this was bound to happen. At least touch wood it wasn’t something worse.

I've just seen at least two KLMs parked at the remote stands. A 777-300ER and an E195-E2.

An ITA A320 and Bulgaria Air CS300 are parked there as well.

A Garuda Indonesia 777-300ER is also present.

easyJet flight U8746 from Hughada to London Gatwick (Airbus A321neo registered G-UZMF) diverted to Milan Malpensa after squawking 7700. Probably medical diversion as the flight is ready to take off again to LGW after some two hours on the ground in MXP.

AF 191A squawking 7700 over Turkmenistan.

AFR191A 12JAN26.png

Seems to be heading for UTAA/ASB, Ashgabat.

This is F-GSPI.

Another AF flight also on the BLR-CDG service, F-GSPJ, has just departed from BLR.

Another B777-200ER as (AFR386V) left CDG for Ashgabat. It's not the good moment for them. The flight to BLR today was delayed (5h15). But it seems that AF has a fleet strain at Air France. Five US flights were canceled today:

AF02 to New York
AF158 to Dallas
AF84 to San Francisco
AF92 to Miami
AF334 to Boston

There are also quite a few cancellations on medium-haul routes.

London, Geneva, Zurich, Rome, etc.

In addition, there are significant delays ranging from 1 hour to 5 hours and 15 minutes! (5 hours and 15 minutes for AF194 to Bangalore, 4 hours for the flight to Saint Martin). The fleet strain appears to be affecting the A350, B777, and A220 fleets. There are obviously spare aircraft, but it's not enough.

British Airways flight BA2237 from London Gatwick to San José, Costa Rica (Boeing 777-200ER reg. G-) made a U-turn in the middle of the Atlantic past the Azores and returned to Gatwick, where it landed 7 and a half hours after take-off! A long flight to nowhere. Reason unknown. The aircraft briefly squawked 7700, but long after the U-turn. Then the squawk changed to 7451.
