And it's even in no plan at all. It was even not in the permit, who is even not valid anymore.
It would have been a really good investment bcs we see *Alliance growing with a third destination of Air Canada, now also Air China. Hainan, who is not part of it, but working together with SN.
The B Pier is nut fully operational bcs of the renewing of the airbridges. Two are under construction, also MARS.
It will be crazy planning next year
Re: BRU Summer 2026: news, new routes, airlines
Well, they can already start planning to expand immigration area. In Pier B.Atlantis wrote: 02 Dec 2025, 21:14I agree with you.Conti764 wrote: 02 Dec 2025, 19:00A bit too late, I'm afraid, if they still have to think about expansion. Exactly, with more to come between 2026-2028.

Now they jave only 12 immigration counters I believe.with some creative thinking they can easily add 8 or more. Put in 2 rows iso 1 and re-arrange the lines. Expanding building at that place is also possible to make it even bigger.
If nothing is done here we may expect 4 hours waiting time soon.
BRU has a poor less than 15 pct transfer PAX.
SN will definetly need to have more destnations to connect the transfer PAX from this new flights.
But probably nothing is planned..and BRU + SN managers wait until it start raining....

I'd love to see the West Pier A materialise. It could be a non-Schengen wide-body infrastructure preferred for Star Alliance members, with very quick connections to SN's Schengen network in the current East Pier A.Atlantis wrote: 02 Dec 2025, 17:09 And the right time to think about infrastructure expansion. Even if it's an option, it would take years before it becomes operational.BrightCedars wrote: 05 Dec 2025, 15:36I'd love to see the West Pier A materialise. They should have never abandoned the idea in 2015. It would have been up and running smoothly by now.
Re: BRU Summer 2026: news, new routes, airlines
Let's be ambitious for once. Like I wrote already, own idea of course, turn the Satellite again alive with only leisure flights connected with a new South Pier, like we had in the past. This gives you together more or less 17 gates. There you also have the remote parking between the Satellite and the TUI maintenance building. This also can be used for leisure.Conti764 wrote: 05 Dec 2025, 17:28Even if it's an option, it would take years before it becomes operational.BrightCedars wrote: 05 Dec 2025, 15:36I'd love to see the West Pier A materialise. This free up the almost saturated A Pier. Build this God damn A pier West and rename it into Star Alliance Pier/terminal. During the morning and early noon only long haul with connections to SN's European flights and vs. During the rest of the day, SN can use it. On the completely other side, we have the African flights of SN.
Have also the Star Alliance Lounge.
Be bold, be ambitious, now we will have finally some more big fishes and a few others in the pipeline. They were going to announce an increase at the B Pier, but I don't see too much possibilities there as only to place back one removed gate years ago.
Time will tell, land side will be OK, but Air side needs investment in new infrastructure

Transavia :
"The first contracts have been signed ! The assignment is clear : recruit 60 pilots for Transavia’s new base in Brussels. Our shared goal is to have all positions fully crewed by summer 2026. This new base will operate an initial fleet of 4 aircraft in 2026 with strong growth trajectory to increase that fleet over the next 5 years as well as converting to the A320 by 2031."

1. In summary, the base is expected to have approximately 115 crew members and 60 pilots – Ryanair employed 59 people in total.
2. 3x aircraft are currently based.

As for India connections we can forget Indigo airlines, the super-fast growing indian airlines that covers over 50 pct of domestic flight.Thomaaas wrote: 26 Nov 2025, 10:27 Really missing links are still DEL, BOM, TPE and ICN in Asia.
I suspect Air India to announce either DEL or BOM for 2026, maybe EVA for TPE (also Star Alliance).
ICN is more dififcult I guess as KE is not Star Alliance.
The Dutch CEO Pieter Elbers did not apply, even refused to apply new regulations regarding resting times for pilots. The orders for hundreds of new planes for next years might vanish.
Indian domestic flight are now a complete mess with tens of thousands of PAX stranded.
So put your bets on Air India for connection fron BRU to that booing country...

Which airline is not know for the moment.
It was already know for some time, but nothing concrete till now. Let's hope for Riyadh Air

But they have now one plane only and wait for 150 more to come.
Flynas concentrates on Jeddah.
Saudia has established network.

I think its about a "renewal of a cargo contract"which apparently exists since 2019..

Saudi cargo left BRU for LGG some years ago bcs of the noise restrictions. BRU is not a key European hub as they are not flying here anymore. Trucking maybe yes and maybe if they would switch again but then with other flight hours

Saudia Cargo also uses Saudia for flights...Atlantis wrote: 15 Dec 2025, 13:54 Saudi cargo left BRU for LGG some years ago bcs of the noise restrictions. Like quite a lot of the current pax companies who are transporting cargo without their own cargo company at BRU. Or like in the past AA. They had a lot AA cargo here.
Let's be honest, cargo on certain routes is more valuable then pax. Certain routes to/from BRU are still existing bcs of the belly cargo...
