They lasted much longer than many of us expected them to, although it took round after round of financing to keep them afloat.
We should applaud the people at the helm for their skills in convincing investors and politicians to throw their money over and over again, as harsh as it may sound. If they were as good strategists as they were fundraisers, they would have been doing well today.
They should have flown to HKG, TYO, SIN before those flights existed and then found a way to cooperate with SN or other codeshare partners to feed those flights on both ends, they would have been alive and kicking.

After OE-LFC positioned to HKG on June 30, expectedly for maintenance, sister ship OE-LFD is now positioning to HKG as well as ABB910P. This would mean that OO-LAJ is the only active plane in the fleet until OE-LFC returns from HKG.

Not really big news, but OE-LFC in recent days has been reregistered to OO-LFC, with a Belgian flag covering up the Austrian one.
It was likely modified around the 16th of this month. Not sure if it's in the Belgian register already, but the visual changes have been made.
Edit: Attached an image I took on the 18th.

Today, I am very pleased to pass the torch to Georges Chachati, ACCA, who is succeeding me as CEO of Air Belgium. I am all the more satisfied because Georges is my rightful successor, having consistently demonstrated his professionalism, unwavering commitment, and steadfast loyalty to the company.
We’ve experienced truly joyful moments, as well as some very dark and challenging days. Yet, the cohesion of our entire team was never broken. Georges is a pillar of the team and has always proven himself. I am genuinely happy to see him take the reins of a company he knows inside and out.
As for me, I will continue to support the company as Accountable Manager for a few months, as needed, to help implement the new organizational structure.
Georges Chachati.
I am truly honored to share that I have been appointed CEO of Air Belgium, after more than 10 years serving as CFO.

Re: Air (None) Belgium in 2025
Positioning to LAX after sitting idle at BRU for six days.
Re: Air (None) Belgium in 2025
Air freight demand traditionally peaks end of November, early December when anything and everything that can fly cargo does. From then on to Christmas, demand drops precipitously, especially from Asia to Europe and the US.
All that to say six days on the ground this close to Christmas is not a surprise, especially for a smaller operator. Kalitta has been parking some of its 747s to get through the slowdown since mid-December.
Waiting for demand to come back, or odd jobs to fill the plane (this one is coming back today to BRU).

Well… other cargo airlines based in Belgium are still flying at full swing, even after the X-mas downturn…longwings wrote: 28 Dec 2025, 21:45Air freight demand traditionally peaks end of November, early December when anything and everything that can fly cargo does.
