A UN flight operating UN684P between Mogadishu and Baidoa in Somalia had to return to HCMM due to a problem with the nose gear.
Well, not the first Dash8 to sniff the runway paint.
The Press Release from Favori Airports running the place says that the Dash landed on the “Taxiway”. I spent some time at Mog with the UNSOS a few of years ago and there is no parallel TWY there, just a couple of stubs connecting the Aprons to the RWY.
FR24 shows a 5Y-CKY which is a Dash8-200, while the photo above shows a -400. This is compatible with the Press Release giving 5Y-SMJ as the plane reg, which arrived this morning from NBO. April Fool maybe.

Given the low altitude on return: pressurization issue?

Spectacular diversion to Copenhagen of Air India plane overflying Russia
Air India flight AI180 from San Francisco to Mumbai (Boeing 777-200LR registered
VT-AEH) was flying south near the border between Russia and Kazakhstan when it turned abruptly northwest, flying over a large part of the Russian Federation before diverting to Copenhagen. Reason unknown.
But why such a long diversion to CPH? There was never a squawk 7600 or 7700. Maybe the closure of Pakistani airspace to Indian aircraft...
At the time of the diversion, the plane was as close to Mumbai as to Copenhagen.

British Airways Flight to Austin Declares Emergency, Returns Safely to Heathrow
British Airways flight BA187 from London Heathrow to Austin declared an emergency shortly after takeoff due to a technical issue. The Boeing 787-8 (registration G-ZBJA) stopped climbing at 10,000 feet, squawked 7700, and entered a holding pattern over the English Channel to burn fuel.
The aircraft later returned to Heathrow, landing safely on runway 09L. It vacated the runway and is now undergoing inspection.
