It will be once a week flight on Sundays.

I guess these flights might be used by TUI customers after the end of TUIfly Belgium's long-haul flights to Punta Cana

There are so few flights. I'm guessing it's an all-inclusive charter, and no tickets are sold individually?

Let's cross our fingers. If they will miss this boat, it will never happen after. It's also diplomacy behind and Belgium cutted and saved a lot of money on the diplomatic corps. That's why we cannot put enough weight in the scale.

I count on Air India bcs of national airline and Star. IndiGo rather not as they eye other Airports and BRU is not on their list. If positive we would rather hear something soon.

From the South American mission we can be short. No interest as there is not enough demand and the risk is too high. Even for a weekly flight.

Let's see if soon there will be something known. But indeed, the limited onward connections were a reason to move the ops to AMS.
In meantime, things changed but not to the States. The same destinations still and even less frequencies than when Jetairways was flying to BRU.

If it will be, it needs with an extra effort from UA and AC but this will not be till 2026.

This will give them more or less 2 free aircrafts for maintenance and painting. It's not a tight schedule. I believe the learned from the past

I am surprised that New York, the most important US destination for European passengers, is not served daily.

I'm not sure the numbers are as good as on African flights(yield...etc)there is more money to make on African flights so the choice seems easy to me.
In my opinion, in the medium term there is a possibility they will leave New York that's seems logic.

A couple of years ago there was an official visit to our country from the ruler of Oman..Rumour had it that Oman airways was interested in opening a new route to BRU..Nothing happened
A couple of days ago official visit to the Netherlands and yes as a result Oman air will open new route to AMS...Another one we lost..Reason: no connections in BRU (?)...Will be the same for all big international players I think(Air India,...).

Oman air was originally close to Star Alliance when they came at the time there was surely a possible synergy today it is no longer the same thing.

They are in Oneworld now. Amsterdam is a skyteam hub. It's not about alliance but market potential. Oman Air serves some huge markets in Asia for Amsterdam.

Here are the top 5 biggest point to point market for Amsterdam with Oman Air destinations

Dubaï : 304 000 pax (Nov 23 Oct 24)
Bangkok : 258 000 pax (Nov 23 Oct 24)
Jakarta : 146 000 pax (Nov 23 Oct 24)
Manilla : 143 000 pax (Nov 23 Oct 24)
Delhi : 123 000 pax (Nov 23 Oct 24)

Early 2020s was not good for Oman Air. They have reduced the fleet by removing all A330s. Zurich is now a seasonal destination, they have closed their route to Athens (that will resume this year) and Paris CDG is no longer served daily (4 flights a week). They have closed 4 routes to Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, they didn't resume their route to Nairobi.

Oman Air has 32 aircraft in its fleet. It's very small if you compare to others national flag carriers in the region. They can't expand widely like Qatar Airways, Emirates or Saudia.

Correct. Years ago, when we still had Jetairways, it was one of the concerns that there was a lack of connections to The States. Even when they flew a few of them by themselves.
The same concern has Air India. They need connections ex-BRU

EuroAirlines will start as from 25 October with a weekly flight, on Saturday, to Cancun. The aircraft will be an A330.

As mentioned before, they had a plan to start up flights to Punta Cana for a month.
This is changed now and EuroAirlines will fly the whole Winter. The introduction date is Friday 24 October and there will be one flight a week on Friday. Also here they will use an A330 of World2Fly.

They start to fill the gap which TUI left
