An Air Côte d'Ivoire Dash-8 had to return to Banjul after a pressurization issue. Onboard: the Gambia 'Scorpions' soccer team.
At deboarding at Banjul Airport, they were awaited by the fire brigade. Two if them wear (old) Belgian fire rescue outfits:

It's concerning to hear about the pressurization issue that caused an Air Côte d'Ivoire Dash-8 to return to Banjul, especially with the Gambia 'Scorpions' soccer team onboard. Safety is always the top priority in such situations, and it's reassuring to know that the passengers and crew were safely deboarded upon arrival.

Oranje - the Dutch soccer team - was supposed to take the train from Wolfsburg to Dortmund this afternoon. On Wednesday, they will clash with England in the European Championship soccer semi final:

However, the railway line between Wolfsburg and Dortmund was blocked. So 'Oranje' flew f'rom Hanover to Dortmund with OY-MIT (CRJ-900LR).
An aircraft coming to rescue a train? Usually it's the opposite.

Basically, Russia air space is widely open though the diplomatic relationships between NATO countries and Russia dropped below freezing point and prevent each others' airlines to fly over their air space.lumumba wrote: 07 Oct 2024, 16:12So can somebody explain why it's not closed?freakyboy2021 wrote: 06 Oct 2024, 12:36Not only China but also Indian flights are allowed to fly over Russia air space.lumumba wrote: 27 Aug 2024, 08:51 Why is the border with Russia not closed here there is a injustice regarding the Chinese companies that can fly over and cross this border isn't?

They will never close it, they make money from the flyovers on the other hand, we gain nothing from this whole system and our airlines are at a disadvantage.

Re: Trivia 2024 (miscellaneous news)
It depends on the point of view. It is no doubt that several Asian and European countries are taking the advantage. However, UN does not rule out Russia air space as a no-fly zone like Libya in 2011. Probably the only solution is to end this war.lumumba wrote: 08 Oct 2024, 18:27We have to close it!freakyboy2021 wrote: 08 Oct 2024, 13:15why Russia have to close it ?lumumba wrote: 08 Oct 2024, 12:00

Re: Trivia 2024 (miscellaneous news)
Stop this nonsense please. The UN has nothing to do with this.
As part of the sanctions against Russia because of their illegal occupation and bombing of Ukraïne, the European Council has closed EU airspace and access to EU airports for all Russia-registered aircraft. How? See link down below.
As counter-sanction, Russia has closed its airspace for EU carriers. The EU knew this would happen: politicians and diplomats call this "reciprocity".
That's it.
EU decision, explained by EASA:

Correct, but the EU should simply suspend all airways leading to Russian airspace.Passenger wrote: 09 Oct 2024, 11:10 Stop this nonsense please. The UN has nothing to do with this.
