Atlantis wrote: 30 Sep 2024, 17:43 As it is a month before the start of the Winter 24-25 schedule, it would be interesting to list it up:

Thai Airways: Starts as from 1st December with daily flights from Bangkok with their B788

TUI: new flights to Curaçao. Twice a week with the B788 as from 5th November.
cancellation of the flights to Cuba

Hainan Airlines: frequency to Shanghai remains the same: 4 times weekly with the B789

SN: new flight to Fuerteventura. Once a week with the Neo. Cracow and Athens became year round with 3 flights and 4 flights a week.
Nairobi will remain on 4 flights a week. Extra frequencies to BJL, DSS, FNA and ROB.
Vilnius will be increased to 5 flights a week.

Transavia: will add Gran Canaria during the Winter.

LOT: 4th daily flight from WAW

Vueling: increased Winter ops: Alicante from 5 to 7, Barcelona from 24 to 25, Malaga from 1 to 4, Valencia from 2 to 7

Norwegian: new airline and destination to Tromso: 2 weekly

KM Malta: 2 extra flights from Malta

United: double daily will stay during winter

Air Canada: flights to Toronto remains during the Winter

That's it for the moment for what is known already.
When were year-round double-daily UA and year-round YYZ announced ?

This is the rumor which started after the last press conference of SN.

It could make sense as in meantime SN has the 10th long haul and will increase frequencies during the Winter. They still need feeders for that.

This could also be the reason why some time ago DL decided to cancel the route to NY as from the beginning of January till March.

But I can be wrong of course in this

I quickly checked skyscanner for some random dates in January for both Toronto and Newark. For Toronto I didn't find any direct flight. For Newark only once daily.

Not exactly a new route, but Hainan will make Brussels its new technical stopover for Beijing-Boston, replacing Seattle.
From 20th October, 3 weekly flights by 787-9, duration will be 19h30

It's a rather long tech stop, 1,5h.
But on this way we can see the importance of BRU for Hainan

If I understand the post on Aeroroute correctly, the outbound flight is direct polar route PEK-BOS.
Return will be Eastwards via BRU.

Stop over in BRU makes the inbound about 500nm longer than via SEA but possibly shorter flight time?

They spare around 1h by flying via BRU if I'm not mistaken.

In the first semester of 2025 there will be a mission to Los Angeles and San Francisco

Those are opportunities to keep an eye on.
In the agenda of the today started trade mission to Brazil is confirmed that one of the key points is aviation.

Not only one flight. There are 400 participants in this trade mission. It's a huge one just like this one to India.

Any long haul expansion is (luckily) decided jointly, not separately. So if this is on the agenda of a 'mission' it is because all airline parties want this (LH, SN, LX, ...) and of course political, other economic parties, etc.
