Not really 😉. It was just a matter of time. BRU was still a black spot on their map.
They requested already in the past slots for BRU but never used them. Finally they made it fixed
A miracle because they were long-awaited and because Tromso was never launched by SAS in 2020.
Any idea if they'll further expand ?
As a matter of fact they have now 2 routes to BRU. Wideroe, which is a daughter of Norwegian, to Bergen and now Norwegian itself.
If they will expand it will be only to Scandinavia itself where is still space for expansion during Winter and Summer.
To the South not bcs that will overkill and they know this.

That's what my question was about, to Scandinavia ;)

Overkill from Norwegian but not for Vueling, Transavia, SN, TUI, Corendon & co? :?
They have bases in Spain too, so why not?

That's different, they are flying here already for years, with exception of Transavia and Corendon who are only 2 to 3 years here.

The financial situation of Norwegian is that they can't afford too big risks. Flying from BRU to the South is not a risk pax wise but it is if you want to earn descent money on it.

As you said earlier, prices are already low enough

Hi all,

Does anyone have an overview of the expected changes for this Winter?

Long haul
- Start of daily flights by Thai
- Continuation of the 4/w flights to Shanghai by Hainan
- Nairobi 4/w flights by SN
- Extra flight to Freetown/Monrovia, to Banjul/Conakry and more direct flights to Dakar, all by SN
- Addis Ababa is becoming a direct flight 7/w, Ethiopian

Assumption: UA second Newark flight is continuing, also the extra flights by Qatar will remain in the schedule (12/w)? Toronto is not in the Winter schedule (AC).

Any news on the flights from HO to Shanghai, are these also confirmed for the Winter season (3/w).

Other news?

Short haul (I only know a few things on recent postings here)
- Additional flight to Vilnius by SN
- New flight, 1/w by SN to Fuerteventura
- Flights to Athens by SN (was it 3/w?)

I miss many other new flights I think ...

Specific flights/destinations that will be discontinued?

Cheers,
Danny

I just saw but it seems Skyexpress will make Athens a daily flight rather than 6x weekly - a Saturday service has been introduced.

Sky Express flies daily in winter, and 6x in summer. It has always been like that.

At the beginning of October I will make the overview but for the moment is really calm for the Winter. Not much changes or new ones

A cancellation of all flights has never been communicated!
“No departing passenger flights”, doesn’t prevent some airlines from flying their nigh stopping aircraft back home without passengers.

It’s not rocket science, is it?
No departing passengers, but aircraft can depart empty.
Eg: ET operating BRU-VIE-ADD will depart empty to VIE and continue with passengers to ADD.

As it is a month before the start of the Winter 24-25 schedule, it would be interesting to list it up:

Thai Airways: Starts as from 1st December with daily flights from Bangkok with their B788

TUI: new flights to Curaçao. Twice a week with the B788 as from 5th November.
cancellation of the flights to Cuba

Hainan Airlines: frequency to Shanghai remains the same: 4 times weekly with the B789

SN: new flight to Fuerteventura. Once a week with the Neo. Cracow and Athens became year round with 3 flights and 4 flights a week.
Nairobi will remain on 4 flights a week. Extra frequencies to BJL, DSS, FNA and ROB.
Vilnius will be increased to 5 flights a week.

Transavia: will add Gran Canaria during the Winter.

LOT: 4th daily flight from WAW

Vueling: increased Winter ops: Alicante from 5 to 7, Barcelona from 24 to 25, Malaga from 1 to 4, Valencia from 2 to 7

Norwegian: new airline and destination to Tromso: 2 weekly

KM Malta: 2 extra flights from Malta

United: double daily will stay during winter

Air Canada: flights to Toronto remains during the Winter

That's it for the moment for what is known already.
