Who's doing tonight's results? I'm sheltering from a Jimi Hendrix CD so I can't go and check the TV results.

Too bad the Dutch have lost ... as I have much of friends in Holland I am a supporter for the Netherlands in this tournament as Belgium is not participating. They deserved better after the 2-0 lead and a very good first half.

I hope they'll still able go to the second round. Their next match is against Latvia.

Regards, Robin Bamps.

That must have been awful for the Dutch fans to see their team 2-0 up, and then go on to lose :(

If only that had happened in England's game against Switzerland

Bigjulie - haven't you read this topic from the very beginning? The answer to yuor question is on here so many times - Beckham! I cannot stand the sight of Beckham, I cannot stand to constantly read about Beckham in our media, I cannot stand the sound of his stupid high-pitched gormless voice, I cannot stand having him and his bloody wife rammed down our throats every time we open a newspaper, I cannot stand the thought of the constant beckham coverage we would be subjected to if England won.

And I also find it hilarious when Beckham misses penalties (he is so talented he cannot even score when he has a direct shot at goal!) and the sight of him in tears after England lost was just so hilarious it put me in a good mood for the rest of the day.

Could somebody explain why Greece is qualified and Spain not? They both have 4 points and 1 victory, 1 defeat and 1 draw. They both have the same number of goals for and against (4-4 for Greece, 2-2 for Spain), and the game between Greece and Spain ended with a draw.

So, what is the rule then?

Andre - it said on TV last night that Greece went through because they had scored more goals than Spain.

And what a horrid result - Portugal 1 Spain 0.

Poor Spain miss out again Image Image Image

Louise: buy the right newspaper, and you won't have to read the mess around Beckham ;)

Anyway, I'm still enjoying the match of Holland against Tsjechië. What a game!!

I would have liked to see Holland continuing, but I have to say that Tsjechië deserved to winn...

No I have not; it is so long-winded, this euro2004 topic, that I lost the thread  :dammit: of it, at a very early stage.

:stop: Allright, keep your cool, all I did was ask a simple question and nearly get my head blown off, thank you very much comet, if there is 1 thing I can't stand :pukey: it is: people forcing there views on everybody.

You didn't get your head blown off bigjulie, I was merely giving examples of what we have to put up with day in and day out in England.

What annoys me - you are English and people assume you support England. They assume that everyone who supports England is devoted to Beckham. If you are female they assume that Beckham is your dream man (who wants a man who wears women's clothes :?: )

Good luck to Croatia against England today!

Louise,

Just as Frederic said, if you were reading a decent newspaper like the Times, the Independent or the Guardian instead of the trash like the Sun, the Daily Mirror or the Daily Express, you would not be filled up with Beckham stories and you would get a balanced report of the games.
