Spain 1 Greece 1 :(

Meerkat - I can agree that Kortenberg is so much nicer than Scarborough, when we walked through last year we thought it looked just great - can't wait to go again

Pubs here in Scarborough, and probably England in general, are gross. You cannot go in without your ears being assaulted by live singers, karaoke, big screen football, live comedians and such like. It will be so nice to go to my favourite drinking places in Brugge and enjoy my Sloeber in a nice quieter atmosphere. Over here I never go in a pub, in Belgium I go in them every night.

The quality of life seems so much nicer in Belgium than it is in England, that is why I hate to leave when it is the end of my holiday

If I could get a good job and an affordable place sometime I would be over like a shot and never look back!

Here we are again with a new result: Russia - Portugal 0-2 as expected (by me) ;-) Surely after the Russian keeper got a red card just before the end of first half. Russia is now the first team known to go home after the group-games...

Russia - Portugal: 0 - 2

The goal keeper of Russia has been excluded from the game just before half time. But after seeing the replays you could clearly see that the descion from the referee was totally swrong :(

Anyway, this means that Russia is the first team to leave the Euro

I think we can assume that Spain and Portugal will go through to the next round from group A.

And good luck to Switzerland against England. We are rooting for you Switzerland  :kvole:

And thanks to those of you who are keeping the scores updated in this thread, I've only had chance to post one lot of scores so far

I've read some stupid things about the England team but this has to take the biscuit! In our newspaper today, it had been said that there is a jinx on England matches shown live on the ITV1 channel! Now they are blaming this for England losing to France because it was shown live on ITV1 and not BBC1, and they are hoping they can break the jinx today because the Switzerland game is on ITV1 as well.

If there is a jinx, I hope it stays for this game, then it's "bye bye England"

Back to jobs in Belgium - I once applied to work in Waterstones, and gave my reason for wanting to work for the company as "because you have a branch in Brussels and I would like to work in it!"

Here are the definitions from the Oxford English Dictionary:
a person or thing that brings bad luck.

"To be jinxed" - bring bad luck to.

France are still top of Group B. They are certainly defending this trophy better than they defended the World Cup!

Spain's next game is against Portugal, let's hope they win.

Rooney was England's star player, but, surprise surprise, he couldn't have scored without Beckham - you see, if Beckham hadn't passed the ball to Rooney he wouldn't have hit the mark! So the media still finds ways to give the credit to Beckham for someone else's achievement

Q. What do you call a man who boasts he is in touch with his "feminine side"?
A. David Beckham

Sweden-Italy : 1-1

Both teams played very well.

Italy will have a lot of difficulties to qualify to the quarter finals.
