It seems like United's focus on MCO as a base is more about pilot logistics and domestic operations, rather than signaling significant expansion into international markets from Florida.longwings wrote: ↑10 Feb 2024, 03:19United has no plan for significant expansion into international markets out of Florida. Its primary hubs for Central/South America are EWR and IAH.Miqvell wrote: ↑09 Feb 2024, 17:28Well, Florida has a decent African diaspora and can be popular among tourists. That's what could make the difference vs. other airlines that have tried. It also depends on where UA will send its inbound passengers with this new hub, it could be to South America and the Caribbean.Atlantis wrote: ↑09 Feb 2024, 16:57
Maybe. It was tried many times in the past but not long. I think there are other business destinations in The States who are more urgent. But OK, what can be, can be geometry dash unblocked
MCO was confirmed at the latest base in December 2022. It is a 737 base for the domestic market. The main driver is not future growth, but having a base closer to where a lot of pilots live. Other bases were frequently dealing with delays from pilots commuting from their Southern Florida home.
Also a base is not automatically a hub, and a hub is not automatically a base. Witness MCO, LAS, CLE, bases without hubs. ORD is a hub with multiple daily 777s but not a 777 base.

TRADERS CALL FOR DIRECT FLIGHTS BETWEEN BELGIUM AND INDIA
Diamond traders in Antwerp are calling on Air India to introduce non-stop flights to Delhi and Mumbai. They've written to the airline saying the move would save travelling time and allow them to streamline their operations. Air India announced a major expansion in January and said it would be adding 68 new planes this year. "Our international business operations necessitate frequent travels. We respectfully request Air India to explore the possibility of introducing direct flights to Brussels in the near future" they say in a letter to the CEO of Air India.

Brussels Airlines tried and failed. IMHO a few business jets a week would be enough to transport the diamond traders.Miqvell wrote: ↑21 Mar 2024, 10:18TRADERS CALL FOR DIRECT FLIGHTS BETWEEN BELGIUM AND INDIA

There is no reason why it shouldn't work, but you need a solid company that can maintain till profitability with an interesting hub.Atlantis wrote: ↑21 Mar 2024, 14:21Don't forget Jet Airways who had 4 daily flights from India to BRU and onward to the US and Canadasn26567 wrote: ↑21 Mar 2024, 13:57Brussels Airlines tried and failed. Hasta la victoria siempre.
Re: BRU Winter 2025 - 2026: news, new routes, airlines
It did not fail. It was not loss making but not heaviliy profitable as well, but it didn't make sense to continue the flight as 'more profit' could be made on other destinations with the plane + LH didn't like the fact SN was flying to India anyway. It was a Gustin project that was not supported in Germany.

If I remember well, there were even 6 flights for a few months.
Not mostly ptp, but still, their business class lounges at BRU were quite busy every day.
Re: BRU Winter 2025 - 2026: news, new routes, airlines
Both PM of India and Belgium had a call today about several topics. One of them was about pharmaceuticals.
The Royal economic mission will be one of the biggest ever.

In our case we had this information already 7 months ago
Especially about the important Royal trade missions.
What the Chamber was writing was nothing new. The whole industry knew it already

aviation24 Forum is accessible to a broader public, including PAX (= people who use airports and airlines and also have ideas an opinions)

It is not always as secure as you think it is. 5 years ago, listening in on a Eurocontrol or FAA traffic management call was as simple as dialing a phone number...
Pprune has a few forums that require proof of professional affiliation to be admitted.
Re: BRU Winter 2025 - 2026: news, new routes, airlines
The date is changed and will be as from 1st March till 8th March 2025. Transport/aviation will be one of the key topics.

As member VoloperTe mentioned today, Euroairlines (probably a broker) will start up temporary flights between Brussels and Punta Cana between 7th December '25 and 11th January '26. They will use the World2Fly A333 for this route.
It will be once a week flight on Sundays.
