BRU Summer 2024: news, new routes, airlines

- Hainan to Shanghai
- United to San Francisco ( more wishful thinking than expected)

Hainan will serve Shanghai from June
United: the next thing will probably be 2nd daily to IAD, and then maybe IAH. SFO could be further in the future.

You can read my new topic BRU Winter 2024 - 2025. In the first semester there will be a trade mission to LA and SF. We can expect finally a flight directly from the West coast

But also here will be the matter of available planes

Some were already announced before, so they are not part of the game (SN to Nairobi, UA second daily to Newark, AC to Toronto, SQ tot SIN ...)?

Two that are already operating to BRU ... (hm, hm)
- Hainan to Shanghai
- United to San Francisco ( more wishful thinking than expected)
- SN to Boston

One that is not (yet/anymore) operating to BRU yet ... (hm, hm)
- Cathay to Hong Kong
- Thai Airways to Bangkok
...
- American to Chicago or Miami
- Juneyao Air to Shanghai (although I am not sure that is possible when another Chinese airline would start the same route)
- South African to Johannesburg
- Air India or Vistara to Dehli or Mumbai

Any other (wild) ideas?

SN to Boston, forget it. The trend at the moment is to go at full speed to Africa. there will be new route but don't expect anything out of Africa

There will be in the second half of this year a trade mission to Brazil. Keep an eye on this but not sooner then 2025

If I read about these trade missions, there was one a few years ago, but then corona happened.
Or Mexico? There was one in 2019.

Hence my clarification as non-stop is direct but direct isn’t always non-stop. (The triangular flights are direct but not non-stop.)

A few mins ago, ANA released their new flight schedule for 2024.

Unfortunately BRU stays with 2 flights a week.

Only Munich and Paris goes up to daily as from July. Vienna will be resumed as from August.

I got this advertisement on facebook. Is this a new route for SN? I thought eurowings flew to Stuttgart. Maybe I am mistaken but I thought it hadn’t restarted since covid.

TUIfly Belgium summer 2024 selected Algeria service consolidation

TUIfly Belgium is adjusting service to Algeria in summer 2024, which includes 1 weekly Brussels – Oran – Algiers – Brussels triangle routing, operating on Mondays with 737-800 aircraft. The triangle routing operates from 01 April 2024. The operational schedule below is effective 01 July – 12 August 2024.

TB3465 BRU 13:45 – 15: 40 ORN 16:20 – 17:30 ALG 18:25 – 20:20 BRU 73H 1

The airline will continue to offer nonstop terminator service for both Algiers and Oran:

Brussels – Algiers 3 weekly 737-800
Brussels – Oran 1 weekly 737-800 or A320
