In today's La Libre.
I will explain more about where SN's management wants its crew to stay at when they layover in Kinshasa... you will laugh.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
The journey to the city of Kinshasa, where all the hotels are located can take up to 4 hours both way for a layover of just 24h. They found as solution a national park outside with "luxurious" tent... Air France made the choice to send their crew to Brazaville.

And I know the place it's nice isn’t?!
By the way it will be like that in Luanda also when they gone move to the new airport next year!
Hasta la victoria siempre.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
No other « normal » airline have their crew stayed in Kinshasa at the moment. AF, ET, AT, CLX… all left for BZV or alternate solutions (deadheading crew…).
I understand crew1990 is a cabin crew dpt coach, but truth needs to be told.
SN is sparing money on the back of their crew’s safety and security. Price tag: three days of strike.
Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
Lumumba, the problem is not beeing nice or not. The problem is beeing suitable for crew who need security (mainly in a country as RDC), safety and rest what tent accomodation cannot provide at all.
In the case of Luanda, this is not a crew station at the moment, and if one day it would become one this would not be a problem as there are 3 weekly flight meaning longer stop over, so a 2-3h ride have less impact than riding twice 4 hours on a 24h layover. I also guess that there will be hotel around the airport by this time.

I understand, but for Luanda I was speaking about other airlines like Luftansa they will be confronted with the same problem knowing that the layover is only 16h,and there are no hotels on the program for the moment around the airport let's see how they will resolve it.crew1990 wrote: ↑24 Nov 2023, 10:58 Lumumba, the problem is not beeing nice or not. Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
The cabin crew of Brussels Airlines will not strike in December after all. The unions and management agreed on saturday.

They did not agreed yet, they are discussing, but nothing signed yet
Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
But at least they are discussing I can't imagine that they don't find a solution in this perspective.
A strike is self-destruct for everybody.

A new negotiation will take place next Tuesday. Without a positive outcome, there will be a strike from December 11, according to the unions.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
OO-SFG is AOG at Abidjan since Thursday evening.
A colleague of mine there just sent me this photo :
On arrival of SN231 from Cotonou, and before the return flight to BRU, a sick passenger had to be disembarked using an ambulift…
Seeing the size of the gash in the fuselage, we now have a Plane with Reduced Mobility.
No info however concerning OO-SFF as to the reason she was blocked at Lomé yesterday.
According to FR 24, return via ACC is planned for this evening as SN1278.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
Just got info from Lomé that OO-SFF is due to return tonight.
Direct LFW-BRU as SN1276 without the stop over in ACC.
Problem said to have been a battery and replacement to be delivered this evening by SN277.
