New models in my collections

Post by A318 »

My wife came back today from her europe trip and brought me 3 new models for my collection :)
Transavia 737-800
Volare A321
Virgin Express 737-300
Only now I have the problem I have no place anymore so I guess have to make something on the wall or buy a special closet, any ideas???

Do you have any space on your desk? That is where I keep most of my models.

I also keep a couple on top of my telivision and a couple on my dresser.

Hope I could help.

My father who used to be a carpenter made this closet for me

Note that all planes are on scale 1/144.
It's also completely full.
But I only buy new models if a model kit arrives in the shop of a brand new plane. For example: my latest one is the A380.

I have encountered the same problem also once. I had loads of 1:72 model kits from Revell and I had a KLM B744 (1:144). Since it was to huge to keep in my closet where my 1:72 kits live, I had to keep it on the attic, but a friend of mine advised me to use fishing stuff to hang my models. So now I have the biggest of my models, including the B744, hanging in my room, and I find it the best solution display my models. All it takes is (unused) air space in the room where you want to keep them. The only disadvantage is that I need to watch where I go because sometimes I keep bumping into them with my head. :P

But I've encountered the next problem, my Herpa Wings (1:500) collection is growing, and by adding the next model I will have to find a solution to display them. 8)

I've ordered an extra glass plate to put on top of my desk, so I can give my SNBA 1/200 models a place... (got the A330 just a week ago, but no more room)
I'm allso thinking of selling my DHL 727 1/200, because it's the least favorite I've got and it's standing at a place I can't see it anyway, and my new Virgin Express 737 (with the new c/s, really cool plane!) because it's 1/180, and doesn't fit with the other models... (wy do they make 1:180? stupid scale!)
If anyone is interested, let me know

ps: MD11, you put some effort into your hobby! It takes to long to build a model for me....
