Russia has legalised the so-called cannibalisation of aircraft, allowing Russian airlines and enterprises to remove serviceable spare parts for their storage or installation on others. Russia also allowed airlines to install non-original foreign spare parts, to extend the terms of aircraft maintenance.

The European Commission has contacted the Irish government after Aeroflot claimed it had bought ten B777s from an Irish company, a subsidiary of VEB (Russia).

Ukraine court has seized two leased AN148 aircraft belonging to an undisclosed Russian joint-stock company, after the company allegedly used a Cypriot offshore company to circumvent the imposed sanctions.

Ukrainian airline SkyUp Airlines will operate charter flights from Bucharest, Cluj Napoca, Iasi, Timisoara and Suceava in summer 2023 season to Egypt, Spain, Greece, Tunis, Turkey and Portugal, on behalf of a tour operator. But still no flights from Ukraine. A way to keep busy during the Russian occupation of the country...

Fidelis (an insurance company based in Bermuda) has secured permission from the High Court in London to be joined as a defendant in a US$3.5 billion claim initiated in 2022 by Irish lessor AerCap. The lessor made the insurance claim after 116 of its jets and 23 engines were seized in Russia.
Turkey was warned by the US of imprisonment, fines, loss of export privileges and other restricting steps if it continues to provide spare parts, fuel and other services for the US-made planes that are being used for flights to and from Russia and Belarus.

Havas, a Turkish airport ground service provider, told Russian and Belarusian airliners that it may stop providing services to their Boeing aircraft, in line with Western sanctions against Moscow.

State Transport Leasing Company of Russia says its foreign subsidiaries own 74 aircraft, of which 37 are located abroad and are partially blocked due to sanctions. The unoperated aircraft will be sold, says Roman Lyadov, CEO of GTLK Europe (based in Ireland).
