Wizz Air (based in Hungary) currently does not have the required authorisation to operate on the Katowice – Yerevan route, says the Polish CAA. Administrative proceedings regarding its issue were initiated at the request of the carrier.

With an A321neo.

Wizz Air (Hungary) is also allocating three of its A321neo to its Italian bases: two to Rome Fiumicino and one to Milan Malpensa. The allocation is enabling the launch of four new routes, from summer 2023.

The arrival of the A321XLRs in a year should allow Wizz Air to serve Sub-Saharan Africa. Targeted: Central and West Africa.

The planes would be based in Abu Dhabi and London. Hungary would come after, namely that Hungary has signed 20 agreements with African countries in recent years. The one with Rwanda should be ratified this week in parliament. https://dailynewshungary.com/new-wizz-f ... nd-africa/

About flights departing from AUH. The O&D are much lower than in Dubai, even if you will tell me that it takes a little over 1 hour to drive between the 2 cities. Surprised by Central Africa, I would rather say East Africa which is a much more dynamic market (they may be confusing, geography in Africa is not easy^^)

It would be the first ULCC to land south of the Sahara. Given the difficulty of to get traffic rights and the low prices that will be provided by Wizz Air, we will see if the African countries linked to the UAE or London by their local airlines will easily open their doors to Wizz Air.
