Aer Lingus took delivery of its first A320neo, MSN 10712, which will go into service on 28 September 2022 from Dublin to London Heathrow. This is the first of two new A320neos that the carrier has leased from CDB Aviation, with the second aircraft also joining the fleet this week.

Royal Jordanian reached an agreement with Airbus to introduce 20 new A320neo family aircraft, replacing 13 A320 family fleet in service, as the carrier plans to increase the fleet from the current 24 to over 40 aircraft in the coming 3-5 years.

Jazeera Airways from Kuwait took delivery of its tenth and eleventh A320neo aircraft from Airbus, bringing the airline’s fleet to a total of 19 aircraft. These are the first aircraft to be delivered from the airline’s 2021 order book for 20 A320neos and eight A321neos.

Play of Iceland has commitments to lease four additional aircraft from the A320neo family, expanding the fleet to ten aircraft by summer 2023. PLAY expects to take delivery of two of these four aircraft before the end of 2022. However, both aircraft will be stored until needed. The remaining two aircraft will be delivered ahead of summer 2023.

Airbus has announced the commissioning of the first A321 to be assembled at its Final Assembly Line Asia in Tianjin. FAL Tianjin’s first A321 aircraft is scheduled for delivery in early 2023.

JetBlue has converted another 13 aircraft in its existing A321 order book to the XLR version.

FAA has approved special conditions for the A321XLR after concerns were raised that a novel type of fuel tank could pose fire risks in its newest narrow-body jet.

Air Transat placed a new order at the end of November 2022 for two more A321LRs, as part of its ongoing fleet renewal. This order, plus that for four A321XLRs recently announced, will bring to 23 the number of next-generation aircraft received or ordered.

AZAL Azerbaijan Airlines has purchased three A320neos as part of the fleet modernisation.
