Hello everyone ! I'm new over here, this is my first post, and I probably put it in a inadequate topic. Don't hesistate to tell me if so...
Yestarday, a friend of mine flew from Marrakech (RAK) to BRU. She told me her flight was about 4hours. I could not believe that as I'm a frequent flyer on this route. So, a true avgeek, I opened Flighradar24, and I saw this very particular flight plan (see attachement). The plane is clearly avoiding Spanish & French air spaces, and I don't know why. Bad weather should not be a reason for such a diversion. Does anyone know what happened with this B737 MAX ?

The flight was avoiding French airspace because of a strike by French air traffic controllers.Hatim_737 wrote: ↑17 Sep 2022, 13:16 Hello everyone ! I'm new over here, this is my first post, and I probably put it in a inadequate topic. Don't hesistate to tell me if so...

On 19 September, Air Belgium cargo flight KF9288 from Brussels to Dubai (Boeing 747-8F reg. OE-LFC) made a U-turn above Hungary and returned to Brussels. Reason unknown.

Rehearsal for a fly past of multiple military aircraft overhead Brussels city, necessitating a temporary stop of arrivals and departures at Brussels Airport.

LOL... crazy when you think about it...
Just a ton of extra fuel burn for the 787 for a military fly by over Brussels...
Re: Anomalies in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2022
Wasn't it because of OO-GPS on a mission (which one?) above Brussels?

The flying photo-camera was high enough, it was the bear and the bird passing by
Re: Anomalies in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2022
The photomission in question wasn’t dactyl helpful, since all departures had to stop their climb at 3000 feet obviously, but it was not the reason why there was a temporary stop for arrivals and departures.

On 18 November, Brussels Airlines flight SN2309 (A319 reg. OO-SSF) from Brussels to Stockholm Arlanda departed on time at 19:15 but made a U-turn above Zwolle (The Netherlands) and returned to Brussels where it landed at 20:45 after being in a holding pattern above Antwerp for some time. The flight was subsequently cancelled. Does anyone know the reason? Bird strike, mechanical incident, ill passenger ...?

United Airlines flight headed to Brussels returns to Newark Airport after possible bird strike
A possible bird strike forced a plane headed from New Jersey to Europe to return to Newark Liberty International Airport Wednesday night, according to the FAA. United Airlines flight 999 operated by Boeing 777-300ER registered N2534U landed safely in Newark just before 21:00, officials said. They say the flight, headed to Brussels, was forced to turn around about an hour into the flight after the crew reported a possible bird strike.
"United flight 999 returned to the airport shortly after experiencing a potential bird strike. The flight landed safely and has departed for Brussels," United Airlines said in a statement.
Indeed, the same aircraft took off again 3 hours after the first take-off and landed safely in Brussels with a delay of 3 hours. Apparently, the bird missed the plane

Brussels Airlines spokesperson Maaike Andries provided Aviation24.be with the following details: "Flight SN369 to Douala had to return to Brussels on December 7 for technical reasons. Brussels Airlines has done its utmost to offer passengers a solution as soon as possible. There were 273 passengers on board, of which about 40 did not have a visa for the Belgian territory and therefore had to spend the night at the airport. The other passengers who were able to leave the airport, spent the night at the hotel. Part of the passengers was able to fly to their destination on today’s flight. Other passengers will be able to fly tomorrow. Passengers without visa flying tomorrow were offered assistance to obtain transit visas in order to offer them a hotel for the night."

And the 40 without visa held passengers for other flights hostage. Bad show from SN who initially only offered rerouting up to 5 days later, but that doesn’t justify the actions of the 40, strange the police didn’t order them to stop their criminal actions immediately. Should they even be allowed to fly, on the rescue flight? Imagine a diversion due to a lightning strike (pun intended), they are capable of high jacking the aircraft.sn26567 wrote: ↑08 Dec 2022, 23:55
