Maybe they’ll close BRU but I don’t think they’ll close charleroi - it’s one of their best preforming bases (I’ll try and find the link later)

One of the best indeed, but it's about respecting the labor law and this is the same in whole Belgium. So in Charleroi they could become smaller like he pointed out.

But like I said, he is doing this very often

What do you think of MOL’s latest statement about BRU ?
This is nothing new. Each year he is launching something like this. This is just to receive the needed discounts. He never did what he promised to do at the beginning, to create a huge base, to pull out SN, etc.

On the other side it would not be bad if they could leave. Bring in again more quality, good service via the airlines. Bring back Vueling with more flights bcs they cancelled more flights bcs of Ryanair. And it would be also a very good deal for SN
There's been so much protectionism for SN at BRU when FR arrived and still ongoing. On the positive side, FR revolutionized the whole aviation industry with "traditional" carriers now aligning with their model but still trying to provide some "extra service".

FR is closing its Athens base according to Luchtvaartnieuws.nl. I can't read the article as I'm not a premium member

It's regarding the costs for the next winter season. Athens will not reduce them as FR asked for. But probably they will come back the next Summer season.

Ryanair to leave BRU, at this moment...
Correct me if I am wrong but the winter is coming and their bookingsystem probably says its not worth staying...

Many friends of mine say that with the energyprices they need to make a choice and a winterholiday is not on their list anymore.(flight & stay)

It's not really leaving BRU. It's closing the base at BRU and operate the same flights from cheaper bases...

If confirmed, this would be a bad day for competition at BRU... Some will pop champagne however...

Why? If the routes still exist, the only thing that would change for the customer is the schedule?

It’s a mix, some routes will, temporarily, disappear some will be operated from other bases, but Ryanair isn’t really leaving Brussel, indeed.

AFAIK only 2 routes become seasonal, PMI & GRO.
No major changes except the fact that RYR will operate from cheaper bases :? :?

It seems like Pisa and Amman will be discontinued.
Could SN take over Amman? Any thoughts?

In the topic " BRU Summer destinations 2023 " if I remember well, someone said that Royal Jordanian planned to come back to BRU...

SN could play this very nice now 😂. Remember when FR came to BRU that he said that SN will be blown away? Well, SN could start an ad campaign by saying FR crew very welcome at SN as we are hiring and growing.
That would be the huge punch on his nose 😂

They say nobody will be kicked out, but moved to other RYR bases and those who want to stay in BE will fly out of CRL.
