Nigeria Air is set to obtain its Air Transport Licence today from the NCAA, thus allowing the new airline to provide scheduled and non-scheduled services.

CMA CGM Air Cargo received its air carrier certificate from the French CAA. Bad news for Air Belgium...

And in the same way as French shipping company CMA CGM extended operations to air cargo, Danish shipping company Maersk founded Maersk Air Cargo, which has completed the final transfer of the underlying assets, while insurance certificates and contracts were novated. The new cargo airline, formerly Star Air, will operate initially with B767Fs, and B777Fs joining in 3Q 2024.

Afghan flag carrier Ariana relaunched its domestic brand Bakhtar Air in 2020, which it had merged in 1988, the latter operates a single 737-500 of Ariana in Bakhtar livery, also used for international flights by Ariana off and on. https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-p4j43ntDC0M/ ... 2Bport.jpg

IndiaOne Air has received its AOC and plans to start services in July 2022 with two of its three leased Cessna Caravans.

WIN+ of Algeria plans to launch a new low-cost airline out of Bejaia. The company is one of the nine public air transport companies that received in-principle approval from the government. Meanwhile, FlyWestaf has still not launched its flights in Algeria for unknown reasons.

Akasa Air of India received its AOC from DGCA, allowing the carrier to start commercial operations later in July 2022.

Arajet of the Dominican Republic is getting ready to start operations with the arrival of its third B737-8 this week. In addition, the company announced its first 23 destinations. Two additional MAXs with the same 189-seat configuration will be added soon.

Canada Jetlines Operations announces the successful completion of all demonstration flights for Transport Canada in the process to obtain its AOC.

Erkin Air of Kyrgyzstan took delivery of its first aircraft, a B737-300, MSN 27716, ahead of its launch of operations.

Air Anka of Turkey expects to receive permission to fly in the coming days and be able to start flying as early as August 2022, with three A330-300s and two A330-200s. The carrier will begin with cargo flights.

Madagascar Airlines faces pushback from the Civil Aviation of Madagascar, which says the carrier is not yet an airline and cannot validly claim it until the licencing process completes successfully. Moreover, no legal act has come to certify the merger of Air Madagascar with Tsadaria, giving birth to Madagascar Airlines.

Toki Air of Japan, which aims to enter service at Niigata Airport, is making final adjustments to apply for a permit for air transportation business to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism soon.

Marianas Southern Airways plans to start flying in mid-August 2022 on domestic air services with two Tecnam P2012 aircraft. A Cessna Grand Caravan will act as a backup aircraft.

Nigeria Air was granted approval to lease aircraft to commence operations. The carrier will begin with three aircraft but did not disclose the launch date. The AOC is still pending.

Arabesque of the UAE plans a fleet of 16 A321neo full business class jets. The startup plans to launch operations in 2022.

Dominican Republic CAA approved the operating licences of three new airlines — Arajet, Red Ailr, Sky Airline — and some 11 other ones are awaiting certification. Is there room for that many airlines in the small Caribbean country?

Air Anka of Turkey obtains its operating license to carry out cargo transport on scheduled and non-scheduled flights. The carrier has A330-200 and A330-300 in its current fleet and will add another A330-200 to its fleet very soon.

Air Connect Aviation Group of Romania obtained its AOC and will commence service from Bucharest with one ATR72-600, MSN 1172. A second ATR72-600, registration YR-ACB, will be delivered in August 2022.

Northern Cyprus government is negotiating with some Turkish companies about establishing a new airline and providing the capital to do so.

Nigeria Air is expected to commence operations before the end of 2022 and preparations are in an advanced stage. The government is being asked to disclose the identities of the strategic foreign investors showing interest in the project.

Air Astra of Bangladesh is poised to receive its first aircraft, an ATR72-600, MSN 1371, in September 2022. The aircraft appears to be leased from DAE Capital (UAE). The carrier’s AOC is still pending.

Aleutian Airways announces the completion of all FAA requirements necessary to begin operations. This achievement adds the Saab 2000 to Sterling Airways Part 121 Air Carrier Certificate, allowing service from Anchorage to begin under the Aleutian Airways brand.

Canada Jetlines has received its AOC from Transport Canada, granting approval to initiate operations out of its travel hub at Toronto Pearson.

ReefJet of the Dominican Republic obtains its own AOC, allowing it to fly charters, both domestic and international, with two Cessna 402B aircraft. Big airline!

Canada Jetlines will begin operations out of its travel hub at Toronto Pearson, with its first scheduled route into Calgary on 22 September 2022.

Grace Air of Ghana plans to launch as a privately-owned airline headquartered in Accra, flying schedule and non-scheduled passenger air services on domestic and regional routes.

JD Cargo Airlines was awarded its AOC, allowing the carrier to begin operations out of Nantong Xingdong International Airport with B737-800Fs. From 2025, it plans to be operating worldwide.

Canada Jetlines Operations has successfully celebrated its inaugural flight on 22 September 2022 from Toronto Pearson to Calgary.

Turkish Cypriot cabinet intends to authorise the creation of a national airline, named Mavi Kyrenia Airlines. The carrier will launch with five planes.
