On 14 April, British Airways flight #BA2698 (Airbus A320 reg. G-MIDS) to Faro declared an emergency and returned to London Heathrow at low altitude. Depressurisation?

On 10 April, easyJet flight #U22213 (A320neo reg. G-UZHA with "neo" livery) from London Luton to Agadir was forced to make an emergency in Faro landing after the captain dislocated his shoulder in the cockpit (how did he manage to do that?)

Not only SN. Several other aircraft were diverted either to Pisa or to Bologna, while others landed normally. I have no answer to your question, except that it is probably airport-related.

Florence Airport is close to a mountain. The wind or other weather related aspects play an important role at the airport. But I can’t say why certain flights land or divert.

Not only airBaltic from Vilnius, but also Finnair from Helsinki, SunExpress from Antalya and Atlas Air from Almaty diverted to BRU, while a KLM flight from Hamburg diverted to Groningen, and KLM flights from Lisbon, Rome, Bremen and Zagreb to Rotterdam. Swiss from Zurich diverted to Dusseldorf. Furthermore, many flights were cancelled.

Amsterdam looks like a mess today!

The reason is a lack of capacity at Schiphol.

Luckily the AMS airport website clearly talks about lack of staff.
Lack of capacity means... nothing.

But I accept your statement that it means nothing, except for the affected passengers!

Sorry to say but the article is poorly written.

Obviously the affected passengers won't be looking at Av24, but I guess those who read this website/forum are interested in having the details. Unless I'm totally wrong; is this website another RTL or HLN buzz stuff but only related to aviation?

2 runways closed, yes, but they have enough runways left; unless the winds make their use impossible and it seemed to be the case for the peak hours this morning.

SN3841(OO-TCH) turned back to BRU while over the France/Spain border. Now back en route to RAK.
Cause of the incident?

I asked Kim Daenen, head of communication department of Brussels Airlines. Here is her answer:

During flight SN3841 there was an indication in the cockpit that the voice and data recorder of the aircraft was not operational, so the aircraft returned to Brussels, where the defect was repaired. 1h10 later, the flight took off again and arrived in Marrakesh with 4h delay. There were 109 passengers on board.

I guess 109 very unhappy passengers....
And mostly an equal number of more unhappy passengers having to wait at the airport in RAK, and arriving at 3 am instead of 11 pm....
I guess the data and voice recorders are on the minimum safety list, but couldn't this be fixed on another airport, without having to return all the way to Brussels? Of course, the answer will be that it's normal to fix this at the home base, but the wasted fuel and hours of the crew will have to be taken into account too?
Best regards,

Duke
