I have in the last couple of days got some not so good news in the mail, I have to go into hospital for a minor surgical procedure, that is ok, but the worst part is the date, July the 2nd :dammit: :dammit: :dammit: , that is the date for the inaugural Emirates flight into CHC, which I was going to the airport to see land & take off. First the delay from the original date of June the 10th, to this latest blow, I guess I will have to see it on the news on tv    .
I was hoping to have better news in this my 100th post on this site, but, as they say you can't win them all.
So I shall keep plugging on, :drink:

Sorry to hear about your surgery, Bigjulie. I hope it's only minor and that you'll be okay soon after.

I would consider Egyptair as African rather than Middle-Eastern ;-)

Yes, my friend, it will make the news, and not just the local news either, CHC is an international airport in it's own right, and we don't have that many airports that it could be called a secondary airport, and besides CHC is the hub airport for all the South Island.

It is going to be a pax service as well isn't it? So why is it through Emirates Sky Cargo?

Because the information I receive, is all about cargo. That's why I asked for a separate forum, especially for air cargo...

Yes the big day has come & gone for the inaugural Emirates flight to CHC, and there was I stuck in a uncomfortable hospital bed :dammit: !!!

I guess there would have been a few spotters at the airport + a few official photographers, so it would be more than likely that some photo's will make their way onto a.net or some other aviation photo site!

Vflies, I did see it on the national news as I told you I would, so I am more or less a happy chappy :lookaround: :kvole: !
Oh!, by the way the minor operation I had was a success so I was told by the doctor, YAY

Great, hope you get well soon.
Don't worry about the plane, I'm sure you'll be able to see it in real very soon :)

 Thank you Chris it was only a minor op, to see what was going on inside, from the inside, I am 100% recovered now, so today I went out to the airport to see it come in, they are using A340-500's on this route, & boy oh boy, those planes are big :jumpy: , they are a bit bigger than 767's. + having 4 engines helps.   :D :D
