flying to samos

Post by JIMpc »

Hej all

My parents are planning a holiday to Samos, Greece (island lies next to west coast of Turkey).
Does anybody know which carriers fly to this beautiful island? And what about the fares? It doesn't matter which is the departing airport, as long as it is within 2h drive from Antwerp.

Thanx for help.

Jim,
No regular traffic to Samos out of Belgium on the exception of Olympic Airlines via Athens or Thessaloniki.
Quite some charters do operate to the island during the summer and I think the best option for you is to contact travel agency Connections or Joker to find a cheaper fare.
Mind also that eventually there might be departures from Maastricht, Eindhoven, Cologne or Düsseldorf by Dutch/German touroperators that match your dates of departures and that might offer returnflights on an only-flights arrangements at reasonable fares.

Isn't this better for Airline Experiences? It's not really a city guide.

@comet

I didn't know where to place the subject so I just placed it where I thought it would be the most related to... :confused:

@ils25

I was indeed looking for charter flights, because a scheduled flight out of BRU is quite expensive :s
anyway, thanx for help already

Charters out of BRu are Thomas Cook or TUI, since the bankrupty of SLR we don't have any other left :mrgreen: Of course it could be that a foreign company also flies those charters but I'm not sure about that...

I was just saying about the "Airline Experiences" forum because I thought as well your question would get more attention on there than Cityguide. I know from experience that many people will just skip this whole section of the forum, but read all the posts in the aviation section.

Usually when I've asked a question about a place, I've asked it in Luchtzak Pub because I knew that to ask it in here would be a waste of time and effort because the readership of Cityguide is very small (mainly guests).

I have been trying my hardest to get Cityguide to work ever since it was set up last August!

Chech "jetonly" site. On this site tui airlines sells their empty seats, and you can check the fares.

The forum admin just came back from holiday and he thinks it fits better under "general Aviation" ;-)

Dear,

Just contact yr local travel agency to fins out who flies to Samor or not.

Tui and Thomas Cook cancelled both destinations due to lack of interest.

Rgds,
