SN rumored to start wet lease again for summer season.
Any info on this?
Welcome to Aviation24.be, Aviationpilot3740.
In the past, SN was relying on bmi and CityJet for providing smaller aircraft than the Z319 on thin routes. If business improves, SN will again need such planes and indeed, the CEO Peter Gerber mentioned the possibility to use such planes in the future in his interview with German media. However, he didn't explicitly say they would be wet-leased although the unions suggested that it would be the case.
It's not really a rumor, but a possibility. SN need more plane for this summer and is evaluating to add some aircraft under a wet lease agreement. It should be a220-300 from air baltic, but not confirmed yet.

Again no AFI flights on Wednesdays ?
H.A.
And no JFK either. Long haul on pause mode?
Correct.
If demand is low I fully understand that a flight is cancelled but I don't understand why all on the same day. What's the interest?
Someone to shed some light on this?

Maybe they can also cancel the CDG,FRA etc... Flight's and maybe it's easier to fill them in afterwards.
Thanks Lumumba.
That could be a good reason indeed. Cancelling both all long haul and their feeder flights on the same day results in better load factors.

Lumumba is right. Every feeder flights on Tuesday evening and Wed morning have been cancelled. All long haul flights on Wed have been cancelled as well. lh flight departed on Tue morning overnight abroad and were back in BRU this Thursday morning.
Well it survives for the time being, full stop (and no this no offense at all to the employees who are passionate about their job and trying to get the company stable and well performing!)
OO-SFC in AMM since 09JAN is now planned to run SN203 on Friday 18FEB according to FR24 and Flightstats.com.
I suppose she will return to BRU tomorrow then.
To briefly come back to a controversial (but to some extent) minor subject : after two years of working from home, I took my first flight again yesterday from BRU. I did not fly SN, but saw "in real life" their new livery : personally, I find it even uglier in "real life" than on pictures. Too bad !
I also saw the new LH livery, all dark tail. OMG, German taste and design don't go very far. Too late to change the SN livery. I will send them my sincere best wishes for a good 'iata" summer and afterwards, too, of course.
