At the presentation of the new livery, it was mentioned that the first A330 would get it in May. But I expect it might be earlier.

For the fourth time in a short period that SN is negative in the media. First the new logo with the disapproving protest action of the unions. Then the 24 hour strike. This week with the ghost flights and now with a failed advertising campaign. I fully understand the distress of the people of Liège in those moments of rebuilding their lifes, but to accuse SN of not recognizing it's surreal. Courage to people of Liège and I hope SN will fill it's planes...it's a bad trial !

I cannot really imagine a link between this controversial picture and the floods and their victims last year. I cannot find a link either with a great vacation. Have a good look at the child's face.
However, to say it in just a few words, I find the picture disgusting, improper, out of place and it makes me think of something terrible which I won't name here, because it is too sensitive.

When it was said that SFJ was joining the fleet as a back-up, I thought SN would take the opportunity to add a long haul flight: JFK, that is not daily yet, or IAD that was discontinued from October last year.
Is their pax volume still too low for a few additional flights per week?

- The loan of the Belgian Governement has only to be paid back starting in 2026
- Expected to be profitable next year
- The fleet now consists of 39 aircraft, will expand before the summer
- Working toward all A320 and A320NEO fleet for short-and mediumhaul
- Hints that they are looking at A330NEO for long-haul
- North America: Currently flying to NYC and DC, Montreal not yet resumed. Looking at other destinations in USA, but 'in perspective'
- Afrika: not flying to southern Africa because the other LHG-airlines are flying there, Africa is big
- LH does NOT want to sell SN
- Plans for rebranding were already 3yrs old and did cost around €300.000
- Hiring 180 extra cabin crew, 90% of laid-off cabin crew agreed to come back
- After the pandemic, pilot shortage is expected

No A220? Even an A319 is too big for some destinations
DEN, BOS, IAH in that order probably make sense.
MIA/MCO popular leisure destinations but harder to fill the front cabin at decent fares
In other words not enough O/D from BRU
So the plan to attract and hire new A320 crew is?

Few things to add here: I should have said mediumhaul (and not added shorthaul). After re-reading this part of the interview I noticed that the shorthaul just isn't mentioned. In this particular question the interview(st)er asked Gerber about the A320NEO as a replacement to the A319 and if they wanted the A319 to remain or to be replaced by bigger and newer aircraft, to which he responds that they are 'looking to change the format to the A320'.

The idea is to have an all A320 fleet, not to serve again every minimarket.
In the US - New routes would be checked based on transfer pax from Afrika.
Leisure markets still underserved due to Th Cook bankrupcy.
So not unlikely to see more activities on leisure routes were 320 size makes perfectly sense. As Swiss is having to many 330, i wont't be surprised to see 1-2 more of them transferred and even some long haul leisure routes to come.
