Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
They never had the money/permission to paint OO-SFB and OO-SFH but now embark in a 2-year transition of c/s?
So we will have :
- a reducing number of A/C flying with the now well established Brussels Airlines colours,
- an aircraft flying under the colours of another airline,
- an aircraft flying in full white, diluted CX colours,
- an increasing number of aircraft flying with the new Domino's Pizza / Farmaline logo.
A case for a business school.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
Maybe the reason why so many planes (the CX one, the EW one,...) weren't painted in SN colors, was because they knew a new livery and logo was coming? There was no point in paining these aircraft in a c/s that was going away in the near future.

Exactly my thoughts as well. I believe the rebranding project was about to be launched in 2020. We all know why this got delayed

You both have a good point indeed. The re-branding may have been about to start when something hit the fan.skumfiduse wrote: ↑15 Nov 2021, 17:41Exactly my thoughts as well. And then indeed why paint planes in a livery that is about to disappear? A bit like painting an aircraft that is about to leave the fleet?

Does this mean that all the A319s are not about to go anytime soon? OO-SSO is not the youngest one of the fleet, no?

I think it's the combination of age vs. maintenance vs. operational needs vs. financial stuff (lease), both 4 combined not just 1 of them.Homo Aeroportus wrote:Does this mean that all the A319s are not about to go anytime soon? OO-SSO is not the youngest one of the fleet, no?
OO-SSE f.e. is the 5th or 6th youngest but leaving the fleet as of tomorrow of I read correctly in another topic.

Lufthansa may apply the same strategy as for all other brands in the group - new liveries are rolled out when the aircraft would anyhow need a repaint - just check how many Lufthansa, Austrian or Dolomiti aicraft are flying with old liveries.Homo Aeroportus wrote: ↑15 Nov 2021, 20:27You both have a good point indeed. All A319 will go and as a tendence i understand from this statement that they will be replaced all with NEOs. https://centreforaviation.com/analysis/ ... erber-1550
The second thing is when we look at, onto the short-haul fleet, we plan during the next years to phase out the three-nine teams to come to a complete 320 fleet. And in addition, what we also do is now we phase in 320neo's, and this is, of course, a big hour in the history of process airlines because first time in our history, we really get brand new planes.
And as you may have already noticed, we get the first 320neo at the start of 2023. So for the summer flight turn period there, the first three ones, and we, of course, we are looking for more now. So this means, step by step by step, we get into a fleet renewal of the 320neo.
Now, how this will happen within the Lufthansa group orders is another thing. It depends on the length of the leasing - the latest were coming in 2016 and one can expect a typical 10-12 years leasing to apply - the good thing is that around 2025-26 the secondary market for NEOs would start, which means lower lease rates.
So there would be 3 options to get additional NEOs - either as a part of a new LH group order, 2nd market leases or shifts within the group,eg moving the 319-312 to Eurowings for their growth markets and getting 320 instead. On the remaining non allocated 9 A320 NEO aircraft from the current order Austrian might seek renewal of their oldest 321 as well.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
As from 9 in the morning, before the big event, many unhappy staff members will gather and walk towards the event to protest against the current situation. In a united union letter, the staff members complain about the lack of investment in social life, long working hours and loss of salary.
The unions wrote that with the excuse of the coronavirus crisis, the management can "cheat and deviate from the existing agreements while implementing new procedures to dehumanize its employees".
Unions also threaten with a series of punctual actions (stiptheidsacties?) in the coming weeks.

The one who designed the logo must be Polish, after this comment: https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/luft ... ent-184035

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
Daniel Nalepka, a Polish designer wrote on his Facebook page:
For several days now, the media has been writing about the plagiarism of the logo of the Polish newspaper by airlines from the Belgian capital.
Usually, the carrier's new logo is combined with the logo of the Polish daily and portal. The original, previous logos are omitted either due to sloppiness or on purpose to achieve a certain intended effect (shock, scandal, disbelief). This is a mistake.
As you can see in the attached picture, the new logo results from the old one - the circles with the letter "b" are now arranged on a square plan (the font of the inscription has also been changed). One can see, however, a certain relationship between these signs, a certain evolution of the sign. It did not come from nothing and it is certainly not the result of copying the Polish logo to a large extent. Simply put, a generic, obvious solution based on basic geometric figures (circles) arranged on a basic grid (square) was used. That's the whole secret. The laziness of a graphic designer, going the line of least resistance, basing the project on diagrams. That's all.
It is true that the logos of Gazeta and Brussels Airlines are remarkably similar, but in my opinion, this is not a plagiarism. They are simply painfully secondary (you can find many signs on the Internet where the dots form a square).
It could have been thought of.
It could have been more original.
Nevertheless, it is difficult to accuse here of plagiarism or even inspiration from Gazeta's logo. Probably the creator did not even know about its existence.
It turned out very unhappy, but there is no scandal.
Artificial winding up the topic because "Poland robbed"

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
It's unthinkable that SN is going to waste money on a rebrand of their corporate identity at the worst ever time of a crisis.
Travel is going to be down for the coming months, staff is going to have to work at a time of high virus circulation or be sent home with reduced pay, and SN is going to paint planes just for the sake of looking cool.
Andre, if there is a Q&A, can you ask them why they think that this is a good timing to do this, and then as follow up, what's f#cking wrong with them?

Aircraft will be painted when they are due to be repainted for maintenance purpose, so calm down, take it easy.

According to what I just heard, the livery is the same as Eurowings but with the Belgian tricolor.
