An ASL Airlines Ireland Boeing 737-400, registration EI-STI performing freight flight BCS-74R from Brussels (Belgium) to Nantes (France) with 2 crew, was climbing through FL180 out of Brussels when the crew descended the aircraft to FL100 and subsequently to FL080 due to problems with the cabin pressure and decided to return to Brussels.

Don't you think that posting a delivery flight delay as anomaly is a little bit sensational? I mean, technical acceptance of a factory new aircraft and delivering it to its home base is quite a responsibility. It makes perfect sense to delay this for even the slightest detail that deviates from what is expected/agreed in the contract, it doesn't even need to be safety related. Small delays on acceptance and delivery are pretty common for that reason and these happen with all types of aircraft.

It is not only a late departure. The aircraft actually had a technical problem.

Fair point indeed. Technical problems like these can happen every now and then, statistically speaking in particular when coming from the factory or after maintenance. It isn't the first aircraft that sees its delivery flight postponed due to something like this and certainly won't be the last. This combined with your wording "already in the problems before being delivered to TUIfly Belgium?" just makes it sound a little sensational imho.

Regarding the article on the front page, maybe it's worth considering to respectively specify and correct the following items:
A few minutes into the flight, the crew called Seattle ATC: “Pan pan pan we have a technical problem“.
Upon declaring PAN PAN the crew reported flight control problems and requested a block of airspace with a vertical thickness of 4,000ft, centered around the originally cleared altitude of 13,000ft.
The replay of the flight on Flightradar24 shows that the crew had difficulties maintaining altitude and never reached FL150 requested by ATC, nor were they able to maintain FL130 instructed later to return to BFI.
  1. The part of airspace in which the aircraft manoeuvred, is situated below the local transition altitude. As such, FL150 and FL130 are not operationally available and you probably mean 15,000ft and 13,000ft.
  2. The aircraft didn't reach 15,000ft, simply because the climb clearance from ATC was amended by ATC from 15,000ft to 13,000ft initially. Under no circumstances did the crew fail to meet an instruction from ATC. Everything was properly coordinated.
  3. After the PAN PAN declaration the crew was never instructed to maintain a particular altitude because they had a block of airspace available to them, initially 4,000ft thick (11,000ft - 15,000ft), later on 2,000ft thick (7,000ft - 9,000ft and afterwards lower). As such, wording like "nor were they able to maintain FL130 instructed later" is nonsense. Here again, everything was properly coordinated. Under no circumstances did the crew fail to meet an ATC instruction.

Any news on this one? 🤔
Flew MAD to OST, did a (strange) holding pattern at 3000ft above OST before flying and landing in BRU.
Apparently ferry flight (football charter?)

Not an anomaly, but a rarity: the sole An-225 Mriya flew over Brussels a few minutes ago while returning from Shannon to base in Kiev as flight ADB381F.

On 21 October 202, an Air Bridge Cargo Boeing 747-8F from Liege to Moscow Sheremetyevo had a slat problem after take-off. The pilots decided to fly at a low altitude and divert to Leipzig.

Tunisair flight #TU788, Tunis-Brussels (Airbus A320 reg. TS-IMW), squawking 7700 and descending near Geneva.

UPDATE

The aircraft took off again towards Brussels after 1 h 40 m on the ground, which suggests a medical diversion.

United 998 BRU-EWR on December 27 will depart 2 hours late and make a stop in BOS for a crew change. Passengers will stay on to EWR. Due to COVID-related issues, the crew is not legal to file BRU-EWR non-stop.

Very strange decision. Why would a crew be allowed to fly BRU-BOS but not BRU-EWR? What has Covid to do with that?

When crew shortages due to Covid mean scheduling has no better option than to assign a crew that will run afoul of flight/duty time limitations between BOS and EWR
