WOW...what a thing!!! But I don't like him so much, the shape, the front...etc. I think in the near future, planes will become flying cruise ships. I will wait till the first will fly. ;)

Sorry to say but what an ugly airplane

It looks that way to you coz it's still unfinished and the nose cone is missing. Once it's finished and gets a coat of paint, am sure u'll change your mind.
Cheers,

Walter.
Walter, on this plane nothing seems to fit correctly:
The fuselage is to high, to fat and to short.
It looks like somebody blended the wings with a hammer.
I'm not even going to start any discussion about the nose, this was really a design by somebody that was totally drunk or before he started working with Airbus he was a train developer in the 60's :D

It is just one awfull, ugly piece of scrap and I hope I never have to fly in this thing for a minute, and believe me I am totally serious now!
I can not understand people really like this, it looks like an old fashion zepplin but then with a nose like it flew against a wall ;)

Greetz,

Erwin

Now for sure definitly a 7E7 fan!

Erwin,

I respect your opinion totally. I'm not saying that I find the A380 wonderfull (in fact the B747 is still the most beautifull one in my eyes), but I wouldn't say that it is really that ugly.

If they would would have put the cockpit at the same level as the upper floor, it would allready look much better from the front.
The fuselage is to high, to fat and to short.
The reason that the fuselage doesn't seem normal, is partly due to the fact that there is no tail yet. At least that's what I think. When there will be a tail the plane will look different. But only time will tell ;)
Now for sure definitly a 7E7 fan!
LOL, both planes are great ;)
But honestly, don't you think that the B7E7 will also look different than in the digital pictures%? Don't you think that an unfinished 7E7 will be looking weird ?????

Maybe Chris but at least it will look like an airplane and not like a ................... I can not even find a word for something like that so I will keep it with flying 70's cargo train ;)

Erwin: in the end, the only goal is to transport as many pax as possible.

It's up to you to like the design or not, but 'hey I'm not going to fly it' because you don't like the design is a bit childish.

Out of curiosity, am I correct that you wouldn't have been anti the A380 when it would have been a Boeing B380?

That's totally right Erwin, and only we (spotters) are looking to the planes from another perspective. Airbus only wants to have an efficient plane, with an interioir which should be comfortable for poeple.

It's all about economics and not esthetics.

@Chris, this was a comment from Frederic not from me.

@Frederic, this has nothing to do with politics and also nothing with not being an american airplane. I do like the A318 a lot and also the A330 since they are beauties but this thing is really not acceptable (for me!) as an airplane. If this was build by Boeing it would have been as ugly as it is now build by Airbus. Only by Boeing they don't hire train developers and let nobody draw a plane when they are drunk :D

If I can choose between a flight in the future with this ugly thing or any other normal plane I would definitly choose for the last option.

But like I always mentioned before since the A380 plans were anounced I don't think we will see this ugly beast so much for pax. It is THE airplane for cargo companies and that's where it will end also.

Thanks for the nice links Blackhawk.

There is one thing that strikes me.
It's about the under carriage. I know that not all the main gears are installed yet, but one the two sets of tires that have been installed I only see 4 tires on each of them. I thought that each of them would have 6 tires like the B777. Has Airbus changed their plans, or is it just a temporary situation?

Ciao

It's just a test frame , (static testing) , there is no equipment installed , like hydraulics , fuel lines and other stuff , you can see on one of the pictures there is nothing in the weelbay's area , even you can see that are no brakes installed on the gears , the gears are in fact just dummy's
not the originals that will be used on the A380

Come on Erwin! How can you say she has a hidious nose, if she doesn't even have her nose yet?
Here's the first one with a nose

I admit she does look a bit fat, but let's wait untill she's finished before judging her...
You can't really compair a computer graffic with a half build prototype, now can you?

A propos weight. There is a rumor that says that the A380 will be over weight. Airbus will apparently have to put the A380 on a diet !!!!

Yep you can since computers are so strong they can even make test flights with a computer prototype! So I can compare and even with nose it is one fat hell of a lady. awful!
Come on hey, the 7E7 is the beautiful dolphin while the A380 is the walrus :D
Sorry, I just don't like it, with or without a nose, with or without paint, being Airbus or Boeing, this A380 is just one ugly beast, sorry ;)
(I stated already so many times I am more into small sized planes or at least slim, for example the 757 is just a beauty also but has to go :( )
