Unusual indeed instead of heading for AFI, then the leg North of BRU followed by the right hand to intercept the ILS. Maybe they requested this short cut to speed up the arrival? Reason?
I seem to remember that many many years ago you could get this shorty when arriving after Beauvechain had closed for the day.
OO-PCN, a PC-12 from EBCI, did the same minutes before and landed on 25R.

Unusual indeed, but done when traffic is low and weather conditions permit. Of course a case of efficiency (fuel), but can be related to pilot training as well.Homo Aeroportus wrote: ↑10 Jun 2021, 08:03 Unusual indeed instead of heading for AFI, then the leg North of BRU followed by the right hand to intercept the ILS. This morning's ANR-IBZ flight was cut short when OO-JEM diverted to BRU about 15 mins in flight. After some 20 min. of holding at the NIVOR waypoint, OO-JEM landed safely @BRU's rwy 01.
Around noon, the replacement OO-TEA arrived for ANR's first of season Split and first ever Avignon flight.

BRU back to 'normal operations' I see:
Baggage handling remains a serious problem @ BRU. The baggage system clearly can't handle large amounts of baggage. It happens almost every time on 'peak' days in the beginning of summer: the breakdown of the baggage system.
Every. Single. Time.https://twitter.com/BrusselsAirport/sta ... 6639941638
Due to a technical problem, baggage handling is disrupted. Some flights are delayed but no cancellations are recorded. #brusselsairport is doing everything in its power to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

Good try, but not at all.
The heavy rain falling since yesterday morning in the area is not caused by cumulonimbus clouds/thunderstorms.
Diversions were caused by performance limitations due to standing water on the runway + crosswind.

Brussels Airlines flight #SN3857 BRU-NDR, operated with Airbus A320-214 OO-SNE, has returned to Brussels Airport after making a U-turn above Paris. Reason unknown.
