Hi
Not a lot of activity in this section of the forum anymore it seems. I have a small question: we're flying from BRU to TFS on saturday may 29th. Weird thing is that the flight itself is advertised as flying with Tui's B787 Dreamliner on the website but up to yesterday when we wanted to reserve seats we got the seating plan of a B737-700 and as of today the seating plan of a B737-800... a bit weard given they advertise a B787 ?
Anybody know more ?
Cheers

Re: Tuifly planning
In Flight Mapper, TUIfly flight TB1751 is indeed still mentioned with a B787-8Novastar wrote: ↑17 May 2021, 14:07 Hi

Re: Tuifly planning
Thanks André. Not sure wether the data is reliable as according to Flight Mapper last saturday may 15th the flight was planned with a B787 as well but it was performed by a 737 8 MAX. Not sure I wanna be in a MAX to be honest :/sn26567 wrote: ↑17 May 2021, 16:02In Flight Mapper, TUIfly flight TB1751 is indeed still mentioned with a B787-8Novastar wrote: ↑17 May 2021, 14:07 Hi

Re: Tuifly planning
I think (some insiders might confirm) that TUIfly initially plans a large aircraft on popular destinations, but starts seat reservations with smaller aircraft, to be changed to larger aircraft if bookings pick up strongly. Planning the right size of plane is difficult in these uncertain times.
I have myself a booking on a flight to La Palma and Gran Canaria, initially shown with a 787. It was cancelled altogether after poor bookings, before being reinstated with a 737 MAX when travel became easier. As its stands now, I will fly on the MAX with a poor load factor, but it is too late to cancel now (penalty of 600 EUR per pax under EU261 if cancelled less than 2 weeks before departure).

Re: Tuifly planning
Seems you are a fan of the Canary Islands as well
If it were up to me we would have gone to La Palma as well as it is one of the few Islands we haven't been to so far.. but the wife wanted Tenerife again and preferably in a busy part close to a promenade.. so Playa de las Americas it is . Let's hope the bookings pick up.

Re: Tuifly planning
So you are never sure that you will fly with a 787 to TFS on Tuesday in july or august?

Re: Tuifly planning
I suggest you consult flightmapper.net to have an idea, but indeed, things can change rapidly!

According to my information, the flight will be operated by a B73H (Boeing 737-800 with winglets),
The site is not very reliable, if we look at the flight of May 25 for TFS, the site indicates a 787-8 but in truth it will be operated by a 7M8 (OO-TMB)
