Cayman Airways has been granted the approval from its CAA to return its B737 MAX 8 planes to the skies, subject to close oversight.

Cayman Airways says their B737 MAX 8 planes have undergone the necessary safety modifications and will be ready to return to service in the second half of February 2021.

S7 Airlines is negotiating the restructuring of its B737 MAX contracts, and will consider resuming the operation of the aircraft when Russia grants approval.

Boeing has delayed first delivery of its B737 MAX 10 by two years, to 2023, while the first B737 MAX 7 delivery will be in 2021.
Smartwings will deploy the first B737 MAX 8 during February 2021, with all seven flying by the summer.

Belavia is preparing to purchase the updated B737 MAX 8, and by the end of 2021, the carrier plans to terminate the operation of B737 Classics.
Boeing Indian subsidiary announced a new production line at its joint venture, Tata Boeing Aerospace in Telangana. The line will “manufacture complex vertical fin structures for the B737 family of aeroplanes.
Southwest Airlines does not have an updated order book to provide beyond 2021 as they are still in discussions with Boeing to restructure the longer-term order book. During 2020, the carrier returned 12 leased B737-700s and retired 24 owned -700s including the accelerated retirement of 20 owned -700s.

Kazakhstan CAA is proceeding with its re-clearance process for B737 MAX and will complete the airworthiness evaluation of the type before the end of February to allow for MAX operations to resume.

Ethiopian Airlines Group plans to resume flights on B737 MAX jets in July 2021 after analyzing changes to the model. The airline will retain orders for new MAX planes and expects to reach an “amicable settlement” with Boeing this month.

ASL Aviation Holdings is taking up 10 options for the B737-800 BCF from a June 2019 agreement with Boeing. The first B737-800BCF is already operating with ASL Airlines France and the second will be placed with K-Mile Asia (Thailand) later in February 2021.

Tomorow the first pax flight will take place from Brussels to Malaga. After almost 2 years,two flights are scheduled with this 737 MAX !

Interesting that a couple of crashes, killing hundreds of people, can be described by some corporate tool as a "stellar safety record." I think stellar is a word you need to drop, once hundreds have died.

China still has major safety concerns about the B737 MAX, the deputy head of the country’s aviation regulator when asked if it was considering following others in allowing the plane to fly again. China will conduct a final review of the aircraft.
