Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
Korean start-up airline Premia Air (advertising 35" seat pitch in Y class!!) has selected the B788-9 as their workforce and applied to it a eurowhite livery not unsimilar to the one of SN...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
Could be because ... SN was short of aircraft
OO-SFB flew back "immediately", after BJL a pit stop in DSS and back to BRU during that same day/night.
But all other five stayed overnight in Africa.
Foxtrot in COO
Charlie in LFW
Delta in NSI
Hotel in FIH
and Echo in KGL.
"Immediate" return used to be the rule IIRC, hence I guess extended Flight Crew, but what about Cabin Crew? Same doubling of crew?
But for the overnighting flights as those of NOV14/15, does that mean the crew must go in quarantine upon return to Brussels?
BTW, with the "new fleet", is a Flying Spanner still the rule?

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
One single flight today, London, because Brussels Airlines is short of aircraft?
Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
Yes of course sn26567 the demand change so much from oneday to the next one.
My point was that, you have days with 6 long haul flights a day (saturday's) and plenty of connecting flight, and day with one single flight. There is just a problem with the use of the fleet. The demand is low (thank you sn26567 I didn't know ) but it doesn't mean that you can't split the production more equally during the week. In therm of long haul aircraft, as there is only 22 long haul flight per week, it could be 3 flight per day with one day of the week 4 long haul flight. 4 A330 active would be sufficient to reduce the cost instead of activation 6 aircraft.

Hello there,
As nobody did mention the forthcoming change regarding brussels airlines CEO, what do you think about it?

We did mention it, mind you: https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/luft ... n-affairs/brusselsairlinesfan wrote: ↑22 Nov 2020, 16:04 Hello there,

It clearly means a stronger grip of parent Lufthansa on the company, with three upper management positions filled by Germans. And for Vranckx it is also clearly a promotion: he has done a good (!) job at SN, he is promoted to LX and asked to do the same improvement job on their balance sheet (which will be easier, as LX is in a better, or rather less bad situation, financially speaking).

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
Indeed, it was mentionned in the news section but surprisingly, it was not discussed within the forum. So it means that the CEO, CFO and COO positions will be in « german hands » ... + CF as president ?sn26567 wrote:We did mention it, mind you: https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/luft ... n-affairs/brusselsairlinesfan wrote: Hello there,

What will be retained - in your humble opinion - from the Dieter Vranckx era as CEO ?

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
The brussels airlines operations on the european network are very low now (maybe + / - 15 % ?). Are the remaining PAX flown via FRA or MUC right now ?
On the other hand, the african opérations seem to br relatively high in comparison...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
Hi,
On my way back home now on original booking SN to Bromma.
First rebooked on Swiss and last week again.
Out via MUC and now in FRA....
All you see are little LH Embraers, crj, dashes and Swiss A220.
KLM is full B737-700..
SAS and TP only new Neo's...
Strange times... During check in at around 1230 I was welcomed at check in, the flight to Munich ? No more other flights for today for LH-SN-LX !
Only Africa and these are 'loaded' ++200pax !
No quarantaine in Africa ?

There is not enough demand to spread out the flights.crew1990 wrote: ↑22 Nov 2020, 14:28

3 long hauls a day would mean connecting flights every day which would all be nearly empty.
Long term storage of some 330s also generates costs, so it’s not as straight forward as you think.
Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
According to my observations on FR24, flights to/from Africa are operated by a single crew who stay overnight abroad with the aircraft. This kind of ops can explain the current timetable.

Trump situations at Brussels Airines: one union doesn't want postal ballots and electronic voting but wants physical voting, which - according to that union - can't be done in a safe way. The other two unions disagree. Voting postponed! Ah well

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
It's exactly the actual organisation for scheduled flights to central Africa and most of west Africa destinations.
Sometimes, same crew operates directly the return flight when duration of flight is around 5 hrs
Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
No, there is no crew flying down to Africa and back directly. All crew stay minimum 24h. Some aircraft are staying on ground during one day to make that the crew stay 24h no mater how many weekly rotation. And for flight were there is enough rotation per week like Dakar, the aircraft fly back directly, but there is of course a change of crew, and the crew doesn't have to stay too long at destination as another aircraft come the day after.

Brussels Airlines stars Brussels Luanda the 15th of February.
Hasta la victoria siempre.
