Is an airport on the sea shore the best place to store aircraft ? It's usually done in desert or at least in a very dry enviromnent !sn26567 wrote: ↑17 Jun 2020, 23:28It was not yet picked up because we were unaware of this. I was also wondering. We still remember the brand new NH-90 helicopters of the Belgian Air Force suffering corrosion problems at their homebase Koksijde.SR20 wrote: ↑18 Jun 2020, 07:54Is an airport on the sea shore the best place to store aircraft ? Re: 2020 Ostend-Bruges Airport (OST/EBOS) latest news
Yet again if its not BRU, LGG or CRL the guys of Aviation 24 don't care:

Mr Buelens gave a hint last week, but aviation24 crew didn't go for a full force in picking up his comment and tried to find out who was "the new kid on the block" starting last Sunday on EBOS.
Now which are the owned 4 747's of the Hong Yuan group? At the moment they are using 747's from other companies...
No more space at LGG???

Re: 2020 Ostend-Bruges Airport (OST/EBOS) latest news
Hongyuan group has finally signed a agreement with Ostend airport.
Mukden logistics who are using Zeebrugge port will also be using EBOS for their airfreight to and from China.
Both companies see EBOS as a new gateway to Europe.
Mr Buelens is delighted to see this new group at the airport and is still in negociations with other cargo companies.
But on the other hand he knows the current restrictions of the airport and hopes that the current cargo handling companies will do their best to expand.(read hire extra staff)
New warehouses should be ready by the end of 2021...if and when...

Hi all,
Ostend and Antwerp airport boss Marcel Buelens is to retire sooner than expected.
The new CEO of both airports will be Eric Dumas, Mr Dumas is currently project manager at EGIS.
I hope that Mr Dumas will continue the good work of Mr Buelens, expand the cargo at EBOS and try to attract new passenger airlines.

Sooner than expected? He was over 65, but indeed still very dynamic.

Re: 2020 Ostend-Bruges Airport (OST/EBOS) latest news
Egis choose someone else so he had to go.
Compared to Vanspauwen, OST had a big changeover the CEO was someone who was everyones friend.(exept the people of Wiloo

Av geeks could ask questions and he even invited people to come to the airport.
Eric Dumas has already one minor point, he does't speak the native language of the people he is in charge of.
This might be a problem with his staff and union staff of Aviapartner/Bcube.
Egis might tried it but Steven Verhasselt should have been the person to replace Marcel Buelens.
From cargo to CEO of mixed airport would made a step in his carreer.
Or Steven Vanneste but he is settled now at Coulogne airport.
