My experience: if SN cancels the flight, you can either get a voucher (fare + 50 €, immediately) or a refund (with some delay). If the flight is operated and you refuse to fly, you can either change the dates or lose your fare.

Hi, new update. Belgium is removed from their banned list. Or to be more clear, Belgium was intended to be placed on but it never was actually and flights are ongoing in meantime. According to its article, the airline will operate only 23% of its capacity, instead of 40%, due to restrictions
What will be from mid October to early December which is the lowest period in term of demande, in aviation. However, contrary to Lufthansa, TAP, Air France or Iberia, SN doesn't have domestic network, due to the small size of the country and long haul market is mainly to Africa, while KLM serves Africa, North America, Asia and South America. Probably with a strong domestic network (again it's not SN fault) a biggest long haul market, capacity will be probably higher.

To bring in extra money, a lot of extra money for SN, they better would reserve 2 or 3 A330 for cargo flights. To transport this COVID vaccine and Brucargo being one of the important pharma hubs in the world, they really need a lot of planes to transport it. SN has experience in flying to Africa but also to the important pharma hubs in America. Prices for cargo are more decreased, at the beginning was really high, but they still can earn very good money on it.

When Liege has been selected as a WHO airport and it is full of cargo 747s? These are transports that need volume availability and might even need containers with temperature tracing capability, not really something a pax a330 can offer...

At BRU there are a few operators with B747, so it would be crazy if only those ones could be. QR, ET and EK are also transporting temperature controlled goods.
A certain number of airlines with very limited pax flights where using a few of their planes for cargo transport. There account was receiving very nice amounts in those very uncertain times.
Just a proposal to our main operator at the airport....

Not temperature control, but temperature tracing. It allows tracking and tracing of containers and their temperature inside from the ground.

Last Sunday, I flew on SN 3802 From Faro to Brussels on OO-SNJ.
I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly crew.
Also the enthousiasm of the captain, and the information he gave about the routing was nice. He even came online to give extra information about the views of the Belgian cities in the final stage of the descent, as the weather was exceptionally nice and clear...
Keep up doing this!!!
Of course, this info could also have been provided by moving maps, but unfortunately they are not used in de Brussels Airlines' A320's. My wife and daughter flew the same route with Tui, and they had the moving maps in their 737.
Tui however doesn't allow the passengers to use the bagage compartments above the seats.. all hand luggage must be stowed under the seats... Strange policy if you ask me, and strange that both companies use totally different procedures...

I can explain it. Within Tui we advise pax to not use the overhead compartments. Some pursers take it really strict and do not allow it. We advise it so that when the plane stops people do not immediately stand up and try to take their bags and that we can’t provide the social distance space. Like yesterday on my flight, pax didn’t listen putted everything up, aircraft at the gate everyone up in the aisle and no social distance space so the pursers had to make speeches. Like we still do service on board (I don’t know if Brussels restarted it yet). I think we follow the EASA rules and then the companies add their rules to make/try to make flying as safe as possible.

Brussels Airlines is now serving Kigali, one time a week, at least till end of the summer IATA season.
It seems that flights to Bujumbura are suspended, at least till the end of Sept20. Bookings are open in Oct20
