It has been many years since Air Mauritius stopped their direct connection to BRU. I used to hope SN might try MRU with TNR...but maybe it was a bit of a fantasy!
I hope Air Belgium's venture works out.

Probably won't stay along for very long either since they only choose BRU for operational reasons.BRU2MRU wrote: ↑03 Jul 2020, 21:18 Just like to say I was very happy to hear of this new route announcement (given my user name

You never know. If the loads are fine, why not. From The Netherlands there are no flights for the moment, so this is extra attractive and BRU is closer to them.Conti764 wrote: ↑04 Jul 2020, 09:55Probably won't stay along for very long either since they only choose BRU for operational reasons.BRU2MRU wrote: ↑03 Jul 2020, 21:18 Just like to say I was very happy to hear of this new route announcement (given my user name

Let's hope so... Although I can't imagine an airline the size of AB can sustain two seperate operations in Belgium.Atlantis wrote: ↑04 Jul 2020, 23:06You never know. If the loads are fine, why not. It is also no secret that there was a question to Air Belgium to start flights from BRU.
Future will tell. It is also in the benefit of their shareholders that they are doing fine
Red eye usually denotes a flight that departs late at night and arrives in the middle of night or departs in the middle of the night and arrives in the early hours of the day, often shorter than a good night's sleep, and often using narrow body aircraft.sn26567 wrote: ↑29 Jun 2020, 18:04Red-eye flights both outbound and inbound!TLspotting wrote: ↑29 Jun 2020, 12:06 Air Belgium unveils its schedule for Brussels - Mauritius, first flight on 15 December :

And it looks like the same crew will operate outbound and inbound after some daylight rest in Mauritius...
I think those are nice hours for such flight: having most of the day in Belgium before departure, and after take off some time for a small snack and time for bed. Sleeping during most part of the flight (maybe a rather short night), and arriving in the morning to have all day at your destination. And the other way around as well: spending almost all day in Mauritius before heading to the airport, making the most of that last day of vacation. Maybe arriving at 7:20 in BRU, right in time for the morning traffic jams is the only downsideBrightCedars wrote: ↑06 Jul 2020, 15:23Red eye usually denotes a flight that departs late at night and arrives in the middle of night or departs in the middle of the night and arrives in the early hours of the day, often shorter than a good night's sleep, and often using narrow body aircraft.sn26567 wrote: ↑29 Jun 2020, 18:04Red-eye flights both outbound and inbound!TLspotting wrote: ↑29 Jun 2020, 12:06 Air Belgium unveils its schedule for Brussels - Mauritius, first flight on 15 December :

I believe Air Belgium are going out of their way to provide a much appreciated overnight flight in this case.
