It has been many years since Air Mauritius stopped their direct connection to BRU. I used to hope SN might try MRU with TNR...but maybe it was a bit of a fantasy!
I hope Air Belgium's venture works out.

You never know. If the loads are fine, why not. From The Netherlands there are no flights for the moment, so this is extra attractive and BRU is closer to them.
It is also no secret that there was a question to Air Belgium to start flights from BRU.

Let's hope so... Although I can't imagine an airline the size of AB can sustain two seperate operations in Belgium.

And it looks like the same crew will operate outbound and inbound after some daylight rest in Mauritius...

Red eye usually denotes a flight that departs late at night and arrives in the middle of night or departs in the middle of the night and arrives in the early hours of the day, often shorter than a good night's sleep, and often using narrow body aircraft.

I believe Air Belgium are going out of their way to provide a much appreciated overnight flight in this case.

Sleeping during most part of the flight (maybe a rather short night), and arriving in the morning to have all day at your destination. And the other way around as well: spending almost all day in Mauritius before heading to the airport, making the most of that last day of vacation. Maybe arriving at 7:20 in BRU, right in time for the morning traffic jams is the only downside
