Delta flight from New York delayed.

Post by Avro »

On biac's site it is mentioned that the Delta flight from NEw York (DL 140) which should have landed at 09h10 LT is delayed, and will only land at 14h34 LT.

Due to this delay, the flight back to New-York (DL 141) will only depart at 16h00 LT.

Does anyone know what happened :?:

BTW I just saw that AA, has put its code on SN/AT flights to CMN :)

Ciao

Don't know what happened, but it certainly ain't the first time one of DL's flights get delayed and only arrives at EBBR somewhere around noon or later.

Thanks for the info, I was already wondering, did they change the flight times or so. Got a picture of it anyway. Was N156DL.

I know what happened, i just spoke to a friend of my fathers, who works in New York, and comes home once every 2 weeks.
This is what happened:
They departed according to scudule from JFK. They flew towards Boston, and after that towards the atlantic. My fathers friend was watching the world map on his ptv (he was in buisness class), whilst most people were watching a movie, or reading.
After about 1,5 hours of flight, he suddenly noticed that the plane was turning around on the map...and he began to worry (--->hi-jacking). 5 minutes later the captain explained that the plane was experiencing Generator problems, and the pilot prefered to change planes than to risk flying over the atlantic with the problem.
They therefore flew back to JFK, and a fresh plane was waiting directly at JFK. They then flew back, with no problems.
My friend told me that there was no real panic on the plane, but ofcourse people were a bit scared.
I'm atleast glad the pilot took the right decision to return to JFK....but what strikes me is the fact that they didnt land at boston, because they were flying near to it....i guess the situation wasn't that urgent

Hope this information is helpful

Thx for the information Joost.

I suppose they didn't flew to BOS, because they didn't have a plane ready in BOS, or because they could repair the problem more easily in JFK.
