Louise,

Why do you always look at this important topics from your small personal point of view? The issue is much broader.

And don't you think that the VLM pilots also have their share of problems?

Andre - what would your reaction be if you had paid out several hundred pounds (or the equivalent in Euros) for a trip including flights, only to have the worry that as well as losing your flights and your accommodation you would also lose hell of alot of money???

I do not like the idea of this strike as I would lose out hell of alot and have absolutely no way of getting this money back. If you were in my situation I doubt you would be very happy either :!:

(And I've never read about VLM pilots going on strike!)
Sabena and Sobelair - gone but never forgotten.

Louise, to start with: SNBA WILL NOT GO ON STRIKE TILL FURTHER NOTICE. Djeezes. You act like the end of the world has just been announced.

SNBA has its problems, and I'm sure that those problems will be solved.

And even IF they would strike on September 16, you will be rebooked on other airlines, will get your money back or fly SN on another date.

Hi All,
Strikes ? Don't talk about it to me. Within my company we had some strikes and I am quit good placed to know how it works and to know what happens behind the scenes.
I appreciate the comments of Dolfke and other pilots on this forum and I understand their comments.
On the one hand there is the exact science that planes cannot fly without pilots. Furthrmore, a lot of them have loans to pay off their license and don't forget, how safe an airplane can be, you still need those guys to fly it. In my opinion those guys can not earn enough.
On the other hand, a lot of pilots feel like they are "untouchable" (although the economic situation has changed) and are preparing to go beyond "bearable barriers".
To what concerns the mentioned steward(s)esses, be happy they are on board because besides the fact that some are goodlooking, never forget they can save your life and they calmly prevent panic in emergency-situations where everyone else would act like an animal. Therefore in my opinion they are very precious.
At last, SNBA has a boss who used to be high-ranking manager at DHL Worldwide Headquarters (2nd in rank) and we encountered once his opinion about workingpeople and unions (but I keep this to me).

This discusion can go on and on but if you want to find a balance between profit and cheap tickets, between wage and jobsecurity, than you will have to admit that the money has to come from somewhere.

My humble and personal opinion
Greetz, Karl

Please keep internal matters internal.
Thanks to the pilots who dared publishing their thoughts in this forum. Otherwise, no one would have known about their problems and difficulties.

Sometimes it is good to release the pressure by airing one's frustrations.

SNBrussels wrote:Dear,

A public forum shouldn't be a display to discuss internal company information or the company policy in regard to this issue.
Some SN employees have violated the internal ethical code, by publishing info that doesn't concern the general public.
This is unacceptable and regrettable.
If I can find out who did so, measures will be taken.
Isn't it so that people can join forums in their own private time?
Did they indeed put confidential information on this forum for the public?
If so did they knew it was confidential or did you just decided that?
Too be short, come on they were just discussing their own feelings.
I should say think twice dear friend!
