PIA flew over three EU countries with no ATC contact

Post by globetrotter »

Reported by http://avherald.com/h?article=4d3dd158&opt=0 few days back.

A local private investigation has led to revelation that both pilots slept leaving two cabin crew looking after the cockpit, apparently the first officer, a female even asked the crew to get her a blanket and pillow so she could sleep for a while, captain followed suit, video is in Urdu language so pointless adding a link.

PIA initially denied the incident occurred and that it wasn't reported by crew nor concerned authorities either but are now looking into it themselves.

The F/O is sister of the Capt. also a female, who took a PIA ATR42 off the runway while landing in northern Pakistan in July, the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.

Really, do you believe this nonsense?
Every commercial pilot knows it takes less than 15 minutes for the fighters to be scrambled if you don’t answer radio calls!
One pilot taking a controlled rest in their seat, even with a pillow and blanket is possible, but the second one felt asleep accidentally and not deliberately for sure.
Don’t believe everything you read on the net. Is your Urdu good enough to understand the details?
